About The Role
Our client is a leading European cloud infrastructure and technology provider delivering scalable cloud services across the full infrastructure spectrum.
As part of the continued growth and development of its cloud platform, our client is looking for an experienced
Site Reliability Engineer – Core Platform to join an international, distributed engineering team.
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the
availability, scalability and security of the core cloud platform. You will work across platform engineering, infrastructure, security and automation, contributing to both the technical architecture and day-to-day evolution of the platform.
The position is particularly suited to an engineer with strong
Linux and Go experience who enjoys building reliable internal platforms, automating infrastructure and improving the developer experience.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain the core Linux-based platform ecosystem
- Develop and manage PKI, secrets management and platform security systems
- Contribute to internal platform tooling, automation and orchestration
- Build self-service systems and pipelines to improve the developer experience (DX)
- Contribute to the architecture and technical design of core platform systems
- Improve infrastructure and engineering processes to ensure scalability, security and high availability
- Develop and maintain automation to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency
- Participate in code and infrastructure change reviews
- Collaborate with engineers across a distributed international team
- Take part in an on-call rotation following an appropriate onboarding and training period
Your Profile
You are an experienced Site Reliability, Platform or Infrastructure Engineer with a strong Linux background and a passion for automation and reliable systems.
Ideally, You Bring
- Strong experience with Linux, including networking and security filtering
- Knowledge of platform security components and PKI systems
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault is a plus
- Strong programming experience with Golang – mandatory for this position
- Familiarity with service discovery and DNS systems at scale
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration; Kubernetes is a plus
- Experience with KVM virtualization
- Experience with configuration management and large-scale infrastructure
- A strong automation mindset and a passion for improving workflows
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of technical challenges
- A collaborative mindset and experience working in distributed international teams
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new technologies
- Very good written and spoken English
