The MCS organization - Orange team is looking for an Intern to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will contribute to running OpenShift at scale by enabling customer self-service and eliminating work through automation. You’ll help manage our monitoring systems to make them more sustainable while working with live systems and coding automation. As an Intern, you’ll also write code and software tests to increase the scalability, reliability, and quality of our codebase. This long-term internship will give you the opportunity to gain experience in large-scale distributed system design, coding, and operations within an open, collaborative environment.
At Red Hat, you’ll work in an environment that welcomes diverse perspectives, values great ideas, and empowers individuals to contribute meaningfully. Freedom and courage are two of our core values — which means you’ll have the space to take risks, explore the unknown, and grow your strengths. But being a Red Hatter is not just about bravery; it’s also about commitment and follow-through.
Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid, part-time internship based in the Brno office, with flexible working hours. The expected start date is February 2027.
What you will do:
- Participate in live system operations and small agile team planning to continuously improve SRE software and support peers.
- Work on code contributions to increase the scalability and reliability of Red Hat OpenShift managed cloud services.
- Contribute to software tests and peer reviews while actively sharing knowledge across global, transparent teams
What you will bring:
- You must be enrolled in an accredited university program in the Czech Republic during the full duration of the internship and must be able to join us part-time from February 2027 till January 2028
- Working knowledge of written and spoken English
- Programming language(s): Experience programming in at least one object-oriented language such as Python, Golang, Java, C, or C++.
- Other engineering skills: Basic understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems, along with a demonstrated ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
- Soft skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strong capacity to collaboratively troubleshoot issues in a team setting.
Nice to Have:
- Public Cloud Technologies: Experience working with public clouds such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Container Orchestration: Basic understanding of Kubernetes or direct experience with Red Hat OpenShift.
- Open Source Engagement: Previous code contributions to open-source projects or code samples on GitHub demonstrating your ability.
Due to the limited number of internship opportunities and the high volume of applications, we may not be able to speak with every candidate. To maximize your chances of moving forward in the process, please ensure your CV clearly outlines your education, relevant projects (link to your git.hub account), and extracurricular activities.
Please apply for a maximum of three internship roles that best match your interests and skills.
