Job Summary:
The Site/Civil Discipline Manager leads our Site/Civil engineering discipline, covering site planning, grading, drainage, utilities, and entitlement support efforts. This role provides senior level management, business development and technical leadership over the group to procure and deliver site/civil projects. You’ll work with the Site/Civil technical Design Managers and Project Managers to develop the Site/Civil practice, including delivery, staff mentorship, and quality control that aligns with industry standards and client expectations. This is a hands-on leadership role — not just oversight from afar. You’ll contribute directly to business development, management, design, QA/QC, and staffing while helping the team grow in skill and confidence.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Lead and be responsible for Business Development efforts.
- Lead and review the design and delivery of site/civil projects, including land development, W/WW site/civil support, utilities and grading & drainage.
- Supervise Design Managers, Project Managers and manage direct reporting structure and assignments to other staff.
- Serve as a primary point of contact Site/Civil inquiries, maintain client relationships, and ensure clear, responsive communication.
- Develop and review site/civil plans, coordination strategies with other disciplines, and Quality Control processes.
- Lead team members through construction-phase support through submittal reviews, shop drawings, field troubleshooting, punch lists, and coordination with contractors.
- Mentor and support Design Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and designers through technical guidance, coaching, and career development.
- Participate in and make recommendations for hiring onboarding, staff development, and performance evaluations.
- Forecast and manage discipline workload, allocate staff resources, coordinate with project managers, and help maintain project schedules and deliverable quality.
- Monitor discipline performance metrics such as utilization, backlog, workload balance, and overall discipline health, and implement improvements as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work successfully with project managers and other discipline leads in multiple disciplines with a range of approaches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- 8+ years of civil engineering experience related to site/civil and/or utility design as well as experience in a leadership role.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and communication skills
