Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support a large-scale data modernization initiative involving the migration of enterprise data assets from Cloudera to Amazon Redshift. This role will play a critical part in data migration, pipeline development, cloud transformation, and business intelligence enablement.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with Cloudera-based environments, cloud data platforms, and data engineering best practices, along with exposure to BI and analytics solutions. This position operates on Eastern Time business hours and requires U.S. Citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines supporting enterprise analytics initiatives.
- Lead and support migration activities from Cloudera/Hadoop environments to Amazon Redshift.
- Configure, optimize, and monitor ETL/ELT data workflows.
- Collaborate with business and analytics teams to ensure data availability, quality, and performance.
- Support reporting and visualization initiatives utilizing MicroStrategy and other BI platforms.
- Create, enhance, and modify dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Implement data integration solutions across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, performance, and integration issues.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to cloud modernization efforts.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen (required).
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related data platform roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cloudera, Hadoop ecosystem technologies, or similar big data platforms.
- Experience migrating data from legacy/on-premises platforms to cloud-based data warehouses.
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Strong SQL development and data modeling skills.
- Experience working within cloud environments such as AWS.
- Experience supporting business intelligence and reporting solutions.
- Ability to work EST business hours.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this position, the base salary pay range is 80-105/hr. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
