The role requires strong hands-on technical skills and specialized Stock Loan / Securities Lending experience. The Lead Developer role will additionally provide technical leadership, solution design guidance, mentoring, and broad technical oversight across the platform.

Core Requirements:

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting REST APIs and GraphQL services.
• Experience with distributed cache technologies (e.g., Hazelcast) and messaging platforms.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting MQ-based integrations with third-party vendor platforms (e.g., EquiLend Loanet, Global One, and DTCC).
• Strong understanding of API design, GraphQL schema design, performance optimization, and security best practices.
• Solid knowledge of front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Vue.js is a plus.
• Comfortable participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and Level 3 (L3) production support.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar tools.
• Ability to effectively use AI tools for:
  • Code generation and prototyping
  • Refactoring and modernization
  • Test case generation
  • Documentation creation
  • Debugging and troubleshooting
  • Improving development productivity and code quality
• Understanding of prompt engineering concepts, context management, and token optimization.

Stock Loan Domain Experience

• Strong hands-on experience within the Stock Loan / Securities Lending business domain.
• Proven experience developing and supporting Stock Loan platforms and workflows.
• Deep understanding of:
  • Borrow and loan processing
  • Recalls and returns
  • Rerates and substitutions
  • Inventory management
  • Collateral and pledge processing
  • Trade matching and settlement
• Experience with FIX protocol is a plus.

Required Third-Party Integration Experience

Candidates should have hands-on experience integrating with and supporting industry-standard Stock Loan platforms, including:

• EquiLend Loanet
• Global One
• DTCC

Relevant experience should include:

• MQ-based messaging integrations
• Interface development and system integration
• Trade lifecycle processing
• Workflow automation
• Reconciliation and exception management
• Corporate actions processing
• L3 production support and operational troubleshooting

Collaboration & Communication

The successful candidates will work closely with:

• Product Owner
• Development Manager
• Business Analysts
• Development and Support teams

You should also be comfortable interacting directly with business users, including traders and operations teams, when necessary to clarify requirements, validate solutions, and troubleshoot production issues.

Additional Expectations for the Lead Developer Role

In addition to the requirements above, the Lead Developer should:

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the development team.
• Drive application design and architectural decisions.
• Have strong hands-on experience with both Java and C#/.NET technologies.
• Partner closely with the Product Owner and Development Manager on technical planning, prioritization, and delivery.
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Lead complex technical initiatives and production support efforts.
• Help drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices and engineering productivity improvements.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for challenging design, integration, and production issues.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for highly motivated, hands-on developers with proven Stock Loan technology experience, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced Front Office environment, partnering across technology and business teams, and taking ownership of delivering high-quality solutions.

The expected base salary ranges from $150k-$250k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
