So. CA Trial Attorney, Consumer Protection - Remote except Court Appearances

Overview

A mid-sized civil litigation practice (14 attorneys) is conducting a confidential search for an Associate Attorney to focus on Consumer Protection matters, with a strong emphasis on trial work. The role is primarily remote, except for in-person court appearances.

The ideal start date is immediately, with an internal target start date of October 23, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Handle Consumer Protection litigation matters, with a focus on trial-ready practice.

• Prepare for and participate in trials, including managing trial strategy and execution.

• Appear in court as needed and travel for in-person appearances, including handling appearances solo.

• Manage matters efficiently in a remote environment, maintaining strong self-organization and case management.

Qualifications

• Active California bar license (required).

• 3–5 years of civil litigation experience.

• Demonstrated strong trial skills and comfort handling court appearances independently.

• Ability and willingness to travel for court appearances.

• Strong self-organization and management skills suited to a predominantly remote practice.

• Defense-side litigation experience is strongly preferred.

• Experience with Consumer Protection is required.

• Experience with Lemon Law and/or Trial Law is preferred.

Compensation

• Base salary: $180,000–$210,000

• Additional compensation: Bonus

• Billable expectation: Target of 1,800 hours
