LOCATIONS: London, Bristol, Birmingham, Halifax, Leeds and Edinburgh
HOURS: Full time

Why this role exists
Social media is where customers, colleagues, policymakers, journalists and increasingly AI systems discover, interpret and share information about organisations.
Over the past two years, Group Corporate Affairs has expanded its social presence, launched new channels, strengthened governance and improved how we use insight and data. As audiences move between social platforms, search engines and AI-powered experiences, discoverability is becoming as important as distribution.
We’re looking for a Social Media Lead who can build on that momentum and help define what great corporate social media looks like in a rapidly changing communications landscape. You’ll combine deep channel expertise, creative judgement and strong leadership to grow engagement, strengthen reputation and ensure Lloyds Banking Group remains relevant, discoverable and influential.
This is an exciting time to join. As the Group enters its next strategic cycle under Accelerate 2030, you’ll help shape the future of corporate social media and build the capabilities we need for the years ahead.
About the opportunity
Group Corporate Affairs (GCA) is an award-winning team that provides the insight, counsel, and challenge the Group needs to deliver its strategic objectives. We deliver best-in-class communications for key audiences, ensuring Lloyds Banking Group is recognised for Helping Britain Prosper.
This is a leadership role at the heart of our external communications strategy. You’ll lead and evolve our corporate presence across LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, ensuring each channel plays a clear role in building reputation, engagement and influence.
You’ll report to the Head of Digital, Social and Creative Studio and lead a team of social media managers, analysts and specialists. You’ll help them do their best work while shaping the future direction of corporate social media at Lloyds Banking Group.
We’re looking for someone who understands how social media works today and is curious about how audiences will discover, consume and trust information in the future.
What you’ll do:
- Set and deliver a social media strategy that supports Group priorities, audience needs and Accelerate 2030 ambitions.
- Lead Lloyds Banking Group's corporate social presence across LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram, driving reputation, engagement and growth.
- Define channel strategies and stay ahead of audience, platform and technology trends.
- Lead editorial planning and creative direction, delivering impactful social-first content and campaigns.
- Use audience insight, social listening and performance data to continually improve content and outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with platforms, agencies and industry partners to bring innovation and best practice into the team.
- Own social governance, monitoring, escalation and crisis communications, protecting and enhancing the Group's reputation.
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing team while building future capability across Digital, Social and Creative Studio.
Why join us?
We’re transforming at pace. Investing billions in our people, data and tech to change the way we meet the needs of our 28 million customers. We’re growing, and we’d love you to be part of the journey.
Key Requirements:
- Significant experience leading corporate social media within a large, complex organisation, ideally in a regulated environment, with deep expertise in channels, audiences and platform strategy.
- Strong creative judgement and a track record of innovation, developing social approaches, campaigns and channels that engage audiences and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Experience launching, scaling and evolving social channels and capabilities, responding to emerging platforms, trends and changing audience behaviours.
- Strong data and insight capability, using performance evidence to shape strategy, demonstrate impact and continually improve.
- A strong understanding of discoverability, including GEO and how content performs across social platforms, search and generative AI experiences.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills, with experience building high-performing multi-disciplinary teams, strong external networks and trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Sound judgement and curiosity, balancing creative ambition and pace with governance and risk, and confidently challenging established communications approaches when better opportunities exist.
- AI literacy: a curious mindset and proven experience of responsibly leveraging AI to drive efficiency and enhance creativity.
