Social Media Marketing Intern

Company Description CyKE Africa is a digital consulting agency based in Kenya that supports NGOs, INGOs, development agencies, and missions across East Africa and globally with high-impact visual storytelling, end-to-end event management, and strategic social media growth. Founded in 2023, the agency focuses on identifying the right online stories to tell and executing them through creative media, tailored campaigns, and actionable insights.

Role Description The Social Media Marketing Intern will support CyKE Africa’s digital campaigns and community-building efforts for a range of impact-driven clients.

This internship role is hybrid, based in Nairobi County, Kenya, with some flexibility to work from home. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with social media content creation (posts, captions, short-form videos), scheduling and publishing content across platforms, and monitoring engagement and trends.

The intern will help with basic performance tracking, preparing reports, and brainstorming ideas for campaigns that align with client objectives. The role also involves collaborating with the creative and consulting teams, participating in internal meetings, and contributing to event-related social media coverage.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Content Creation, including familiarity with major platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn).
• Candidates should possess strong Communication skills, including clear written communication, professional online engagement, and collaborative teamwork.
• Basic skills in visual content tools (e.g., Canva, simple video editing software) are beneficial.
• Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated interest in social impact, NGOs, or development work in East Africa is an advantage.
• Ability to learn quickly, manage time effectively in a hybrid work setting, and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
