Social Media Marketing Manager

The Herbalist is looking for a Social Media & Influencer Manager to own our organic social and build our creator network.

We want to create a community of creators who get paid for each piece of approved content that they produce for us, we will then post this content organically or use it in our marketing. Over an above this the creators will get paid a % for each customer they refer to us.

This is not a traditional social media manager role.

We are looking for someone obsessed with:

• Hooks, and why one video does 400 views and the next does 400,000
• Testing different scripts and angles
• TikTok and Instagram culture
• What makes someone stop scrolling
• Creators, and the relationships that keep them posting
• Testing content fast and killing what doesn't work
• Growing an account from nothing
• We have a creator programme that barely scratches the surface of what it could be. We want you to take it over and own the results.

What You'll Be Doing

• Owning organic social end to end - strategy, calendar, posting, community
• Writing and testing hooks, then applying what you learn everywhere else
• Recruiting creators into our programme every single week, like a pipeline and not a campaign
• Briefing creators on the formats, angles and hooks that convert, so they earn and we grow
• Keeping creators active - check-ins, product drops, feedback, new briefs
• Feeding winning organic content to our media buyer to amplify with paid spend
• Owning the scoreboard - active creators, content volume, revenue driven

Requirements

• Proactive, highly persistent and solution focused not problem focused.
• A track record we can look at - an account you grew, content you've created
• Deep, native fluency in TikTok and Instagram
• Able to shoot and edit on a phone, fast and to a publishable standard
• Organised and self-directed - this role is remote and lives on consistent follow-up
• Comfortable talking to strangers all day over DM

Bonus Points

• Experience running an influencer or affiliate programme
• Health, wellness, beauty or supplements experience
• An existing creator network in South Africa
• Paid social knowledge (Meta/TikTok)

• You don't need to be an expert on the influencer programme side. We'll build the strategy with you and walk you through it. What we can't teach is the social instinct.
