Position Summary/Job Duties:

Sauna Shed is looking for a creative, dependable Social Media Storyteller & Video Editor to help turn ideas, storyboards, and provided B-roll into clear, meaningful social posts. This is not a traditional advertising role. The goal is to tell genuine stories about sauna culture, building a small business, craftsmanship, community, and the experiences that make Sauna Shed worth following.

The founder will provide creative direction, storyboards, key messages, and most source footage. You will shape those materials into polished short-form content that feels human, cohesive, and appropriate for Instagram and Facebook.

Responsibilities:
• Edit provided video clips, photos, voiceover, and other B-roll into compelling short-form stories
• Translate storyboards and creative direction into finished posts, reels, and occasional story content
• Add pacing, captions, music, transitions, and simple graphics where they strengthen the story
• Adapt finished content for Instagram and Facebook
• Help maintain a consistent voice and visual feel across posts
• Deliver approximately one to two finished posts per week
• Incorporate feedback and keep project files organized

This is a small, flexible role with room to contribute creative ideas. The emphasis is on thoughtful storytelling and strong editing, not high-volume content or aggressive promotion. The role will begin with light weekly hours, with the possibility of additional projects and hours as Sauna Shed grows and its content needs expand.

Optional expanded work: If you are also interested in photography or videography, there may be opportunities to help capture original photos and video for future stories. These assignments are not required for the core editing role and would include additional paid hours.

Qualifications:

• Strong sense of story, pacing, and visual communication
• Experience editing short-form video for social media
• Comfort working with provided storyboards, creative direction, and B-roll
• Ability to add accurate captions and make thoughtful choices about music, transitions, and simple graphics
• Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook formats and best practices
• Reliable communication, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency with an editing tool such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or a comparable platform
• Interest or experience in photography or videography is a plus and may lead to additional paid assignments, but it is not required

You do not need professional agency experience. Personal projects, coursework, student organization work, freelance projects, and strong self-directed work are all welcome.

Physical Demands

Primarily computer-based work. No significant physical demands.

Application Instructions:

Please apply with:
1. A brief introduction explaining why this storytelling-focused role interests you
2. Links to two or three samples of your work that demonstrate editing, pacing, and storytelling ability; short-form video samples are especially helpful
3. A short note describing your role in each sample and the tools you used
4. Your general availability and anticipated graduation date

Applications without work samples will not be considered. Please do not create unpaid sample work specifically for this application.
