Job Description Setup and Location: Work From Home | Ortigas Work Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM AEDT Sydney | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM Manila Employment Type: Full Time Ready to do work that actually excites you? Design, build, test and support reliable Java components across assigned Axelerator scope. The role works across the development lifecycle and contributes to functional understanding, solution design and continuous improvement. What You’ll Do You’ll be the kind of person who: Analyse requirements and contribute to solution design and estimation. Write maintainable, testable and efficient Java code. Build unit and integration tests and resolve pipeline checks before merge. Investigate defects and production issues and implement durable fixes. Use platform and base-solution components before creating custom code. Maintain technical, deployment and support documentation. Collaborate with BAs, QA, architects and delivery stakeholders. How success is measured At least 90% of commitments completed within agreed timeframe and normal estimate tolerance. No unresolved blocker or critical static-analysis findings and rework meets team target. Changed code meets the agreed risk-based test and coverage threshold. Deliver measurable quarterly improvement and repeatable AI-enabled benefits. Requirements What You Bring We’re looking for someone who: Required capabilities and behaviours: Independent delivery and practical engineering judgement. Ability to simplify solutions and avoid over-engineering. Strong communication and willingness to challenge unclear requirements. Security, resilience and data-integrity awareness. Effective onshore and offshore collaboration. Experience and qualifications Typically 3 to 5 years of hands-on Java development. Experience with Spring, Hibernate/JPA, SQL and automated testing. Experience with APIs, source control and CI/CD. SaaS, insurance and complex integration experience is desirable. Tools and technology expectations Java, Spring, Hibernate/JPA and relevant application frameworks. SQL/NoSQL, APIs and integration technologies. Unit/integration testing, FitNesse where relevant and code-quality tools. Git, CI/CD, observability and diagnostic tooling. Approved AI tools for coding, tests, debugging and documentation.
