Software Embedded Developer, Robotics & Automation (Regensburg, Germany)
Are you an Software Embedded Developer, looking to work on robotics, automation and high-performance technology?
Our client is expanding its engineering team and is looking for Embedded Software Engineers to work across a range of innovative products and technologies. Depending on your experience, you could work on microcontroller firmware, Embedded Linux, mobile robotics, autonomous shuttle systems or the development of entirely new products.
This is an opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation through to testing, debugging and optimisation, while working closely with hardware, sensors, PLCs and other engineering disciplines.
The Role
You could be involved in:
- Developing embedded software using C and/or modern C++
- Building firmware for microcontroller-based systems
- Developing software for Embedded Linux platforms
- Designing and maintaining software architecture
- Working with bootloaders, OTA updates and firmware deployment
- Developing device drivers and communication interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART and CAN
- Developing algorithms for robot coordination and traffic flow
- Creating interfaces between robots, PLCs and wider automation systems
- Debugging interactions between software, hardware, sensors and actuators
- Developing automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, HIL and SIL testing
- Analysing and optimising real-world system behaviour and performance
- Contributing to technical decisions and the development of new products
What We're Looking For
We're interested in Embedded Software Engineers with experience in areas such as:
- Strong C and/or C++ development
- Modern C++17/20
- Embedded Linux
- Microcontroller-based development
- Low-level software development
- Embedded communication protocols and peripherals
- RTOS and embedded architectures
- Python and Bash scripting
- Distributed systems
- Hardware and software integration
- Automated testing and debugging
- Robotics, automation or complex mechatronic systems
You don't need to have experience across every area. The key is having a strong embedded software background and the ability to work on complex technical problems.
Location & Working Pattern
Office locations: Wels, Austria or Regensburg, Germany
Both locations are available across all positions.
During the initial training period, the working pattern will be 4 days per week in the office and 1 day working from home.
Following training, this will move to 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home.
