Software Engineer

e76 is a hybrid operations consultancy. It works on the foundational layer of enterprise companies: operations, systems, organizational design, and financial infrastructure, across diagnosis, strategy, and implementation.

A company's foundational infrastructure is the operations, systems, processes, organizational structure, and financial logic through which work moves. It determines whether strategy ever materializes. Strategy is what a company thinks about; the infrastructure is what it thinks through.

The cost of a broken one is mostly invisible from inside. Talented people route around broken systems and become indistinguishable from the dysfunction they work through, and companies operate at a fraction of the capacity their talent makes possible. The work required is engineering: direct contact with the machinery itself, conducted with cross-functional vantage and sustained presence.

This role builds that machinery.

What the work is

→ Build and maintain product features in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and PostgreSQL.

→ Design secure multi-tenant systems with authentication, permissions, tenant isolation, and Row-Level Security.

→ Build data integrations that connect client APIs, databases, files, and business systems.

→ Design and operate reliable data pipelines with scheduling, retries, checkpoints, replay, schema changes, and monitoring.

→ Build client data infrastructure using BigQuery, dbt, object storage, and cloud services.

→ Model raw data, staging models, business marts, metrics, and reporting datasets.

→ Translate client requirements and business processes into technical designs and working implementations.

→ Configure and extend the product for each client without creating client-specific forks.

→ Build provider integrations behind stable interfaces and manage credentials securely.

→ Implement durable background jobs and long-running workflows with idempotency, cancellation, recovery, and audit records.

→ Build accessible React interfaces for administration, data operations, reporting, and client workflows.

→ Write safe PostgreSQL schemas and migrations, including constraints, indexes, roles, and tenant-aware relationships.

→ Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and support client environments across cloud and private deployment setups.

→ Test complete workflows, including failure cases, security boundaries, data correctness, and production recovery.

→ Work directly with clients during technical discovery, implementation, migration, validation, and launch.
