Software Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain features for a large-scale consumer platform used by millions of people worldwide. You'll work across the stack with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ship reliable, well-tested code. You'll also help improve the systems that keep the product fast and dependable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship features across front-end and back-end services
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and take part in code reviews
• Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to turn requirements into technical solutions
• Improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of existing systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and help strengthen monitoring and alerting
• Contribute to technical documentation and share knowledge across the team

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Java, Kotlin, Python, TypeScript, or Go
• Experience building and operating web services or distributed systems at scale
• Solid grasp of testing, code review, and continuous integration and deployment practices
• Clear communication and strong cross-team collaboration

Preferred

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or similar) and containerized services
• Experience with React or other modern front-end frameworks
• Background in consumer-facing, marketplace, or travel products

Key Details

• Start Date: Flexible
• Duration: Long-term contract (length to be confirmed)
• Location: Remote (within the U.S.)
• Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday
• Pay Rate: $85-$94/hour
• Employment Type: W-2 (no C2C or 1099)
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Engagement: Contract role through Maleda Tech.
