We value pragmatic engineering, clean design, and continuous learning. ## Role Overview As a Software Engineer at Swift-Act, you’ll design, build, test, and ship features across our products and services. This role is ideal for early-career engineers (0–5 years) who want hands-on ownership, strong mentorship, and exposure to modern engineering practices. ## Location * Cairo, Egypt (primary) * International collaboration with distributed teammates and stakeholders ## What You’ll Do * Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and/or web applications depending on team needs * Translate product requirements into well-structured technical solutions * Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate tests (unit/integration) * Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices * Debug production issues and improve system reliability and performance * Collaborate with product, design, and QA to deliver high-quality releases * Continuously improve developer experience through tooling, automation, and documentation ## What We’re Looking For * 0–5 years of professional experience (or equivalent project experience) in software development * Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented or functional programming * Ability to design and implement APIs and integrate with databases * Comfort working with Git and modern development workflows (branching, PRs, reviews) * A quality mindset: testing, observability, and attention to edge cases * Clear communication and a collaborative, growth-oriented attitude ## Preferred Qualifications * Experience with one or more backend languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js, Go) and/or frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue) * Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases and basic data modeling * Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker) * Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated deployment pipelines * Experience building secure, scalable systems (authentication/authorization, rate limiting, caching) ## What Success Looks Like * You deliver features that are reliable, well-tested, and easy to maintain * You proactively identify improvements to performance, stability, and developer workflows * You communicate trade-offs clearly and collaborate effectively across functions * You grow your technical depth and take increasing ownership over components and services ## What We Offer * A supportive environment with mentorship, code reviews, and learning opportunities * Meaningful ownership and the ability to influence technical decisions * A culture that values quality, clarity, and sustainable pace * Opportunities to work with international stakeholders and modern engineering practices
