Who we are:
At DefSecIntel Solutions, we protect what matters by building systems that operate where failure is not an option.
We deliver combat-proven, end-user-driven defence and security solutions for Europe’s border security, defence, and critical infrastructure protection. Our platforms are designed for real operational environments and are already trusted in the field.
We develop, manufacture, and integrate mobile autonomous surveillance systems, unmanned surface vessels, and counter-UAS solutions, all connected through AI-powered command-and-control.
With a talented team of 70+ people, DefSecIntel is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, with additional manufacturing and maintenance capabilities in Ukraine.
We work closely with leading international partners including the EU and NATO, and contribute to major defence R&D programmes such as the European Defence Fund.
Join us to build mission-ready systems for today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges, and help shape the future of Europe’s security.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to take ownership of our camera systems and drive their integration and continuous improvement. In this role, you’ll work with real-world autonomous systems, tackle complex technical challenges, and play a key role in shaping reliable, high-performance camera solutions.
What you will be doing:
Design, develop, and improve camera software solutions using Python and C++ where needed
Take end-to-end ownership of camera systems, including new camera integrations, maintenance, and performance improvements
Integrate and configure cameras, sensors, and video streaming pipelines to ensure reliable operation
Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and well-tested software
Troubleshoot and optimize camera systems in both simulated and real-world environments
Improve system performance and reliability through data-driven engineering and measurable improvements
Collaborate with robotics, hardware, QA, and product development teams to deliver integrated solutions
Contribute to software architecture, automated testing, Docker environments, and CI/CD processes
What we are looking for:
3+ years of hands-on software development experience with Python or C++
At least 1 year of practical experience working with camera and video streaming systems
Experience with at least one computer vision or video processing framework, such as OpenCV, FFmpeg, GStreamer, DeepStream, or similar
Practical experience working with Docker
Good understanding of camera systems, including lenses, zoom, exposure, and video streaming principles
Experience working in a data-driven development environment, using metrics to evaluate performance and guide improvements
Nice to have:
Hands-on experience with ROS
Experience developing or optimizing low-latency video streaming systems
Knowledge of mathematical camera models and optics
What we offer:
Meaningful work that supports our mission to create a safer and more secure world
The opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the development of innovative technologies and solutions
Flexibility in how and where you work, depending on role and project needs
Opportunities for professional growth and skills development as the company and projects evolve
Recognition for helping grow the team through employee referrals
A focus on employee well-being, including access to health- and sports-related benefits
Social activities and team events that strengthen collaboration and team spirit
