We are scaling fast—adoption grew >600% in 2025—and we are looking for top-tier engineers to join our founding core.

• Role: Software Engineer (Cloud Platforms)
• Location: San Mateo, CA (Hybrid: 4 days in office, Fridays remote)
• Salary: $180K – $280K + Competitive Equity
• Visa Sponsorship: Open to visa transfers (e.g., OPT, H1B)
• Tech Stack: Go, Kubernetes, gRPC, PostgreSQL, Terraform

• Architect the Platform: Build SkyPilot’s commercial cloud platform from the ground up, focusing on control plane and data plane separation, tenant/user isolation, control plane scaling, monitoring, and alerting.
• Build Core Services: Design and implement APIs and services in a cloud-native stack (Go, Kubernetes, microservices) with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and simplicity.

• The Builder Mindset: 6+ years of experience as a backend or platform engineer, with mandatory experience building a SaaS platform from 0 to 1.
• Core Skills: Go is preferred; Kubernetes experience in production is required. Strong familiarity with gRPC, PostgreSQL, and Terraform.
• Excellence Signal: Background from a top infrastructure/cloud company (e.g., Databricks, Confluent, Netflix, HashiCorp, or well-funded Series A–C infrastructure startups) or a top-30 CS program.

• Work with a world-class team scaling infrastructure used by Fortune 500s and top AI-natives.
• Direct impact on shaping the infrastructure powering the next wave of AI applications.
