What you'll do

As a Software Engineer, Applications Engineering, your role will be to architect, design, develop, and build robust technology solutions that scale the Record-to-Report (R2R), Fixed Assets, Cash Management, and Projects processes and related systems. This involves close collaboration with teams across Business Transformation, Enterprise Architecture, Application Engineering, Application Product Management, Docusign Product, Data, and Integration teams.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Director of Enterprise Applications, Finance.

Responsibility

  • Streamline financial decision-making and operational efficiency by conducting thorough analysis of complex business problems, creating end-to-end process and system flow diagrams, and prototyping solution options

  • Ensure seamless financial close cycles and overall system health by applying techno-functional expertise across General Ledger (GL), Fixed Assets (FA), and Projects domains, providing operational oversight, L3 issue resolution, and system stability

  • Automate financial document processing, journal entries, and intelligent classification within R2R and General Ledger workflows by engineering AI/ML pipelines, automated workflows, and leveraging Oracle's agentic Al framework to build scalable solutions

  • Strengthen internal controls and enhance fraud detection across General Ledger (GL), Subledger Accounting (SLA), and Fixed Assets (FA) systems through predictive modeling and Al-driven anomaly detection frameworks

  • Deliver intelligent conversational insights and predictive financial forecasting to leadership by leveraging GenAI, LLMS, RAG frameworks, Agentic Al, and MLOps

  • Enable scalable financial operations and resilient accounting patterns by taking ownership of technical designs and functional configurations across Oracle Cloud ERP modules, specifically Fixed Assets (FA), Projects, GL, Cash Management, and SLA

  • Facilitate real-time financial data flow across enterprise platforms by implementing high-throughput inbound and outbound integrations via Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP APIs, and FBDI

  • Maintain uninterrupted financial processing and data accuracy during peak volumes by establishing robust observability frameworks, automated retry mechanisms, and idempotency controls

  • Maximize operational uptime and release agility for core ERP systems by automating routine operational tasks (batch scheduling, data refreshes) through standardized CI/CD pipelines

  • Ensure SOX compliance and audit readiness by partnering with security teams to enforce role-based access models and strict segregation-of-duties (SOD) rules

  • Maintain financial close-window SLAs strictly by performing performance engineering and query optimization for high-volume GL, SLA, and Fixed Assets interfaces

  • Address unique business process needs while keeping technical debt low by building custom extensions (PL/SQL, Java/Groovy, VBCS/OCI) to rigorous standards

  • Fulfill complex accounting requirements efficiently by applying standard Oracle capabilities (SLA, BI Publisher, OTBI, workflows) rather than building redundant custom code

  • Protect cash flow visibility and secure bank interactions by defining technical specifications for Treasury and Cash Management interfaces

  • Drive continuous business functionality from discovery through support by leading the end-to-end R2R delivery lifecycle

  • Empower executive finance stakeholders with actionable insights by designing, developing, and maintaining custom BI Publisher (BIP) reports, OTBI dashboards, and embedded analytics

Job Designation

Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring

Basic

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in Fusion Financials with 3+ years of hands-on experience in finance software engineering, specifically within the Record-to-Report (R2R) track

  • Experience as a techno-functional software engineer in the Core Finance domain, specializing in Fixed Assets (FA), Cash Management (CE), Project Costing, Subledger Accounting (SLA), and General Ledger (GL)

  • Experience with the functional configuration and setup of core Oracle Finance modules (GL, FA, Cash Management, Project Costing, SLA) to support business processes

  • Experience developing and maintaining BI Publisher (BIP) reports, custom financial reporting, and complex data models

  • Experience with Java and modern development frameworks to design and extend finance integrations and applications

  • Experience building and deploying enterprise AI/ML solutions, LLMS, RAG architectures, and Agentic Al workflows to drive automated financial processing and insights

  • Experience developing and tuning complex SQL and PL/SQL code to optimize reports, data extensions, and high-volume processing logic

  • Experience engineering system robustness and reliability, utilizing observability, automated error handling, idempotency, and data reconciliation techniques in high-volume environments

  • Experience ensuring all technical solutions adhere to SOX, auditability, and organizational security requirements

  • Experience managing the full development lifecycle, from initial requirements discovery and solution architecture through to deployment and ongoing production support

Preferred

  • Strong analytical and debugging skills to resolve complex issues across custom configurations and integrations, while effectively communicating technical insights to finance stakeholders

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) for enterprise-grade application and data integrations

  • Experience supporting post-Go Live Oracle Cloud Applications and stabilizing core financial integrations

  • Solid understanding of Intercompany, Accounts Payable (AP), and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) processes and accounting workflows

  • Expertise in building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, scripting migrations, and automating tests for Oracle Cloud ERP artifacts such as reports, integrations, and configurations

  • Familiarity with integrating ERP systems with financial reporting tools, reconciliation platforms, and tax engines

  • Professional background in global technology or SaaS environments, with experience supporting multiple ledgers, currencies, and localizations

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for technical documentation, data analysis, and presentations

  • Foundational understanding of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and architecture concepts

  • Hands-on experience using Jira and Confluence for agile backlog management, sprint planning, and technical documentation
