About the job


This role is being recruited by CoffeeSpace on behalf of an anonymous company focused on syncing customer data from warehouses to business tools.


We’re identifying a small number of exceptional distributed systems engineers from our network. If there’s a strong fit, we’ll introduce you directly to the team.


Location: Remote (US or Canada)


Compensation: $180K - $320K base + competitive equity


Employment type: Full-time


Visa: Visa sponsorship available

The company operates on a multi-cloud and multi-region infrastructure, supporting a global customer base. Their services include a Personalization API that provides a low latency caching layer for real-time personalization use cases.


About the role


As a distributed systems engineer, you will work on the systems powering the company's syncing engine, which is crucial for both customers and internal engineering teams. This role involves tackling challenges in distributed systems, performance optimization, and troubleshooting to enhance data movement capabilities.


You will have high levels of ownership and autonomy, managing projects from inception to completion, directly solving customer scaling issues, and influencing team and company priorities.


What You’ll Do


  • Optimize sync speed for data movement to destinations like Facebook and Snapchat
  • Develop real-time streaming syncing capabilities
  • Address scalability and reliability to support growth
  • Enhance the Personalization API for high-performance use cases
  • Extend the multi-region and multi-cloud backend for global data residency requirements

The Ideal Candidate


  • 7+ years of experience in distributed systems engineering

  • Experience with multi-cloud and multi-region infrastructures is a plus
