DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our Mailgun Send team. The Mailgun Send team builds and maintains our customer-facing Mailgun and internal Admin applications, helping customers manage their email sending, configure domains, monitor delivery, and troubleshoot issues while giving internal teams the tools to support them.
In this role, you will build modern frontend experiences using React and TypeScript. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to make complex email workflows intuitive, deliver reliable features, and improve the applications our customers and internal teams use every day.
Your Impact & Responsibilities
Build and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript
Develop reusable and scalable UI components
Build data-heavy interfaces, including tables, filtering, reporting, and configuration forms
Integrate with backend APIs, managing asynchronous data, loading states, errors, and validation
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver features that meet customer and business needs Improve application performance, usability, accessibility, and reliability
Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting, including investigating production issues with backend and support teams
Contribute to technical discussions and improvements to development practices
REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of software engineering experience
Strong experience with React and TypeScript
Experience building single-page applications and reusable frontend components
Experience consuming RESTful APIs and managing frontend state, asynchronous data fetching, and caching
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern frontend development practices
Experience with frontend testing tools such as Cypress, Jest, or Playwright
Familiarity with Git, code review, and CI/CD workflows
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
Who You Are
You are a frontend engineer with strong experience in React and TypeScript
You enjoy making complex workflows intuitive for customers and internal teams
You care about usability, accessibility, performance, and maintainable code
You collaborate well with product managers, designers, and engineers to turn ideas into working features
You ask thoughtful questions, clarify requirements, and work through ambiguity with your team
You are comfortable integrating APIs and building interfaces with forms, tables, and reporting
You take ownership of your work, from implementation and testing to troubleshooting issues in production
You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teammates
Experience working on SaaS products, internal tools, or administrative applications is a plus
Familiarity with data visualization, observability, or monitoring tools is a plus
Experience with Go and/or Node.js is a plus
This is a remote opportunity, but candidates must reside near one of our hub locations for occasional collaboration: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; San Antonio, TX; Denver, CO

The annual starting salary for this position is between $100,000 - 120,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
