We are seeking a macOS Engineer (Level 4) to help lead the engineering, automation, security, and lifecycle management of our enterprise Apple ecosystem. This is a highly technical role responsible for designing and evolving a modern endpoint management platform supporting more than 2,700 macOS devices and a growing fleet of iOS and iPadOS devices across a global organization.
Working with technologies including Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune, Apple Business Manager, Microsoft Entra ID, Jamf Protect, Microsoft Defender, and Nexthink , you will define engineering standards, drive automation, strengthen endpoint security, and influence the future direction of our Apple platform.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, leading technical initiatives, mentoring others, and continuously improving how enterprise endpoint services are delivered.
What You'll Do
Apple Platform Engineering
- Design, implement and continuously improve our enterprise macOS platform using Jamf Pro Cloud.
- Engineer scalable and secure Apple endpoint services supporting thousands of global users.
- Develop and maintain configuration profiles, compliance policies and enterprise security baselines.
- Design automated provisioning workflows using Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrollment (ADE).
- Manage macOS lifecycle strategy including operating system upgrades, patch management and application deployment.
- Evaluate emerging Apple technologies and recommend platform improvements.
- Define engineering standards and best practices across the Apple ecosystem.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and platform resilience initiatives.
Jamf Engineering & Architecture
- Administer and optimize the Jamf Pro platform.
- Design scalable policy frameworks for software deployment, configuration management and compliance.
- Build Smart Groups, Extension Attributes, reporting dashboards and automation workflows.
- Engineer integrations with ServiceNow, Microsoft Graph and other enterprise platforms.
- Support and enhance Jamf Connect, Jamf Protect and identity-based authentication services.
- Continuously improve platform performance, reliability and operational efficiency.
Security & Compliance
- Implement CIS Benchmarks and enterprise security standards across macOS.
- Partner with Security Operations to improve endpoint detection and response capabilities.
- Implement Zero Trust principles throughout the Apple device lifecycle.
- Manage compliance reporting and audit readiness.
- Work closely with Security teams to reduce endpoint risk through proactive engineering.
- Support Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Jamf Protect security initiatives.
Automation & Scripting
Automation is central to this role.
You will design reusable automation that reduces manual effort while improving platform reliability.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing automation using Bash, Zsh and Python.
- Building integrations using Microsoft Graph APIs and REST APIs.
- Automating software deployment and configuration management.
- Creating reusable engineering tooling for endpoint lifecycle management.
- Leveraging Git and CI/CD pipelines to manage endpoint configuration.
Microsoft Intune & Mobile Device Management
- Assist Engineering with Mobile Device Management solutions using Microsoft Intune.
- Support iOS and iPadOS enrollment, provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Partner with Microsoft engineering teams to deliver a unified endpoint management strategy.
Platform Strategy & Leadership
As a Level 4 Engineer, you will influence the future direction of the Apple platform.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting architecture and design reviews.
- Evaluating new Apple technologies.
- Collaborating with Infrastructure, Security and Workplace Technology teams.
- Driving Digital Employee Experience improvements through platforms such as Nexthink.
- Championing automation-first engineering practices.
- Identifying opportunities for operational excellence and service improvements.
Technical Leadership
Although this is an individual contributor role, you will be expected to provide technical leadership by:
- Acting as one of the highest level escalation point for complex Apple platform issues.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
- Sharing engineering knowledge across the team.
- Producing high-quality technical documentation.
- Supporting major projects and platform transformations.
- Building strong relationships across technical and business teams.
What You'll Bring

Required Experience
- 5+ years supporting enterprise macOS environments.
- 3+ years administering Jamf Pro Cloud.
- 2+ years managing Microsoft Intune.
- Experience managing Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrollment.
- Strong experience supporting enterprise iOS and iPadOS devices.
- Advanced scripting experience using Bash, Zsh or Python.
- Experience working with Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience implementing Conditional Access and compliance policies.
- Strong understanding of macOS security architecture.
- Experience managing operating system lifecycle and application deployment.
- Experience integrating enterprise identity and endpoint platforms.
- Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience working in large enterprise environments supporting thousands of endpoints.
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:
- Jamf 300, 370 or 400 Certifications.
- Apple Device Support or Apple Deployment & Management Certification.
- Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate.
- Jamf Protect.
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
