About the Role

GTPL is looking for enthusiastic and passionate Software Engineer Interns to join our engineering team. This internship offers hands-on experience in building real-world software applications while working alongside experienced developers.

As a Software Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions, with a primary focus on backend development using Python. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical industry experience, enhance your technical skills, and work in an agile development environment — with a clear path to a full-time role.

We welcome candidates with zero prior experience, as well as those with a career gap, to apply. We value potential, willingness to learn, and the right attitude just as much as prior experience. Candidates should have completed their degree on or before 2024 (not currently pursuing, and not graduating after 2024).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Assist in backend web application development.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in code reviews and implement feedback.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on feature development.
• Document technical processes and development activities.
• Participate in team meetings, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies.
• Learn and apply software engineering best practices.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech), completed on or before 2024 (Preferred CSE,ECE,IS), with a minimum of 65% aggregate score.
• Good knowledge of Python.
• Basic understanding of Django or Flask (preferred).
• Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — as a remote intern, you'll need to clearly articulate progress, blockers, and questions to the team without in-person context, and stay proactive about keeping others updated.
• Leadership qualities — ownership mindset, ability to take initiative, guide discussions, and grow into a role that mentors others as you progress.
• Willingness to relocate to Bengaluru for full-time work-from-office employment after the internship period.
• No prior professional experience required — candidates with zero experience or a career gap are encouraged to apply.

Remote Work Requirements (During Internship)

• A personal laptop in good working condition, sufficient to run development tools, IDEs, and local servers smoothly.
• A stable, high-speed internet connection to support daily stand-ups, video calls, and uninterrupted collaboration.
