Hi 👋

We're a small team building DeskBuddy — an AI receptionist for Indian businesses.

The idea is simple. Most small businesses in India lose money every single day because nobody picks up the phone. The salon is doing a haircut. The clinic's front desk is on lunch. The dealer stepped out. Call gets missed. Customer goes to the next guy on Google. The business owner never even finds out.

We're building an AI that picks up those calls. Talks in Hindi and English like a real person. Books appointments, captures leads follows up. Sounds human, works 24/7, costs less than what you'd spend on chai for a receptionist.

We're pre-launch. The product is being built right now.

Which means whoever joins us today will not be doing "intern work" on top of a finished product. They'll help build the thing fromscratch. This is the ground floor.

👨‍💻 What you'll do here

You'll sit inside the product with us. Not on the side. Inside.

• Write code — frontend, backend, whatever the day needs

• Work with voice AI, LLMs, real-time speech pipelines, telephony

• Test the agent on real phone calls (yes, you'll call your own AI and roast it)

• Talk to potential customers — salon owners, doctors, dealers — and figure out what they actually need. Most engineers never learn this. It's a superpower.

• Debug weird stuff late at night because a call went sideways

• Sit in on what-to-build-next decisions

You'll learn how a product goes from a blank Figma to an AI that picks up someone's phone in Lucknow. End to end. Not a slice of it.

🔍 Who we're looking for

Doesn't matter if you're a 2nd year student, a fresher, or someone who dropped out to build things.

What matters:

• You've built stuff. Even small stuff. A side project, a bot, a scraper, a broken website — anything with your name on it.

• You're comfortable (or fast at getting comfortable) with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node, React, Python.

• You're curious about Voice AI, LLMs, speech-to-text, TTS — or willing to go deep. You don't need to already be an expert. We weren't either when we started.

• You can write a clear message. If you can explain a bug in 3 lines, you can talk to a customer.

• Remote works for you and you don't need someone standing behind you.

If you don't tick every box but you're hungry and you build things, apply anyway.

🎁 What you get

Remote. Work from Delhi, Kerala, your hostel, your nani's house. We don't care where you sit as long as the work is good.

Real ownership. Your code will run on live calls the day we go live. Your name will be on features, not tickets.

Stipend if you clear the interview. Numbers we'll discuss when we talk.

Full-time offer if you perform well after the internship.

Equity and company shares for people who stick around and genuinely contribute. This isn't a gimmick. Early team members should own a piece of what they built — that's how we think.

Mentorship. You'll work directly with the founders. No four layers of managers.

You'll get sharper. Coding, thinking, communication, product sense. This role stretches all of them.

Being an early team member at a startup that's still being built is a rare thing. Most people join after the interesting problems are already solved. You'd be here for the interesting ones.
