Job Title: Software Quality Analyst (Hybrid)

Job Description

The Software Quality Analyst plays a critical role in maintaining and improving software quality initiatives by owning Jira administration, tracking Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process compliance activities, monitoring software defects and issues, and supporting remediation of Safety Case deficiencies. This role combines strong project coordination and organizational skills with hands-on experience in software quality, process compliance, and supporting engineering teams in a fast-paced technical environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day administration and overall health of Software Quality Jira boards.
• Create, organize, and maintain Jira workflows, dashboards, filters, and reporting structures to support software quality initiatives.
• Monitor backlog health and ensure work items are accurately documented, prioritized, and tracked through completion.
• Track milestones, due dates, dependencies, and action items across multiple concurrent quality initiatives.
• Identify and escalate risks, blockers, and overdue action items to appropriate stakeholders.
• Track and report progress against Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) process improvement activities.
• Support coordination of software quality initiatives across engineering, quality, and safety stakeholders.
• Monitor Software DIRTs and facilitate follow-up activities with NCSO and cross-functional teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist with tracking Safety Case deficiencies, including static analysis findings, dynamic analysis findings, process compliance gaps, and technical quality action items.
• Track and manage low-severity test escape tickets, ensuring issues are properly logged, categorized, and maintained in Jira.
• Ensure all issues and tickets are appropriately documented, assigned to the correct owners, and progressing toward closure.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to monitor corrective actions and verification activities related to software quality issues.
• Prepare and maintain reports and dashboards that communicate the status of software quality initiatives to stakeholders.
• Support engineering organizations using Agile methodologies by aligning Jira structures and workflows with Agile practices.

Essential Skills

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3+ years of experience supporting software development, software quality, PMO, project coordination, or engineering operations functions.
• Strong experience administering and managing Jira boards, workflows, dashboards, filters, and reporting.
• Experience tracking technical projects across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality metrics and project data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with engineering, quality, and safety stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Understanding of software quality processes, defect management, testing, and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of software static and dynamic analysis tools and associated quality metrics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in automotive, autonomous vehicle, robotics, aerospace, or other safety-critical industries.
• Familiarity with Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) and related process improvement activities.
• Exposure to functional safety, safety case development, or systems engineering processes.
• Experience supporting engineering organizations using Agile methodologies.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in engineering, quality, and safety.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

Work Environment

This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with three days on site and two days remote each week. The role operates in a fast-paced technical environment, closely supporting engineering, quality, and safety teams. Work is primarily performed using Jira for issue tracking and project coordination, Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams for documentation and communication, and various software quality and analysis tools as used by the engineering organization.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
