Software Quality Assurance Test Engineer

We're looking for a thorough and methodical QA Engineer to take full ownership of testing across our web and mobile SaaS platform, remotely. You'll be responsible for building proper test coverage including positive, negative, edge case, and regression testing. Ensuring every feature and deployment is production-ready before it reaches our enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases covering positive, negative, edge case, boundary, and exploratory scenarios not just happy path testing
• Perform thorough regression testing across all modules before every deployment to ensure existing features are not broken by new changes
• Execute smoke testing across multiple cloud environments, dedicated enterprise client environments and staging/dev servers
• Test and validate third-party integrations
• Perform cross-platform testing across web app and mobile app to ensure feature parity and consistent user experience
• Write clear, structured, and reproducible bug reports with severity classification, tracked via Jira or equivalent
• Own and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, regression suites, and environment-specific checklists
• Provide formal QA sign-off reports before each production deployment
• Design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web and mobile applications, to reduce manual effort on each release
• Collaborate closely with developers and the product team, remotely, to ensure issues are resolved correctly before re-testing

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years in a dedicated QA role with hands-on experience testing web and mobile applications
• Proven experience implementing test automation, with demonstrable results (e.g. reduced regression time, increased test coverage, fewer production bugs)
• Strong hands-on experience with at least one test automation framework: Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Katalon, or Appium
• Strong understanding of functional, regression, negative, exploratory, UAT, and smoke testing must go well beyond positive case testing
• Proven ability to write thorough test plans, detailed test cases, and clear bug reports that developers can act on immediately
• Proficient with Postman or similar tools for API validation and integration testing
• Experienced with Jira, Asana, or equivalent tools for logging, tracking, and following up on issues
• Strong written and spoken English. Clear daily communication with the product development team is essential
• Comfortable working independently in a remote, async-first environment
• Able to work aligned with Malaysia business hours (GMT+8)
• Detail-oriented and thorough. Takes pride in catching issues before they reach production

Nice to Have

• Ability to write technical or product requirements (user stories, functional specs, PRDs) in addition to test documentation
• Experience testing SaaS platforms with multiple tenant or dedicated client environments
• Familiarity with Docker-based deployments and cloud infrastructure basics
• Background in facilities management, asset management, or enterprise software
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions)
• Experience with performance/load testing
