Join our engineering team in Laatzen, Germany, the global headquarters of Emerson’s Motion Control Business. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative electric and pneumatic actuators with embedded electronics for industrial automation applications. Working in a multidisciplinary team of mechatronics, mechanical, and software engineers, you will develop software platforms based on product requirements and help deliver solutions that meet customer needs while strengthening our market position. You will collaborate closely with Product Marketing, Laboratory, Quality, Sales, and Operations, as well as with international engineering teams, gaining valuable experience and opportunities for professional growth.
Location Requirement: Please note that relocation support is not available for this role. Applications will only be considered from candidates who are currently based in Germany and have valid work authorization.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Development of software and firmware for mechatronic, electric and pneumatic modules with embedded electronics
- Analyze and evaluate stakeholder requirements to identify suitable technical solutions for software and firmware platforms
- Development and documentation of system architecture
- Coordination and implementation of software and firmware solutions in collaboration with international engineering teams
- Participation in interdisciplinary and cross functional development projects in close collaboration with project and functional managers
- Development of innovative solution concepts within product development projects using appropriate methods, including the targeted integration of new and innovative technologies into these concepts

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field
- 5+ years of professional experience, ideally in Automation technologies
- Linux programming experience
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as IO-Link and fieldbus systems such as EtherCAT
- Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Python, Java
- Very good communication skills in both English and German, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel (~20%)
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Experience working in global teams with colleagues across Asia and the Americas
- Web Page programming
- Another language is a plus
