Role Description The Solar Engineer at SEKEM Group will design, evaluate, and optimize solar power systems that support the organization’s sustainable energy goals and agricultural operations. This full-time hybrid role is based in Qesm Heliopolis, with a combination of on-site work at SEKEM facilities and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting technical assessments, developing PV system layouts, performing electrical design and calculations, and preparing technical documentation and drawings. The role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, and ensuring systems comply with safety standards, local regulations, and performance requirements. The Solar Engineer will also monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement of solar solutions across SEKEM’s network of farms and facilities.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the solar industry and solar power generation, with practical understanding of solar systems.
• Proficiency in PV design and solar systems engineering, including system sizing, layout, and performance analysis.
• +3 years Experience with electrical design related to solar installations, including wiring diagrams, protection schemes, and grid connection requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related field; advanced degrees are an advantage.
• Familiarity with relevant standards, codes, and regulations for solar and electrical installations in Egypt or similar markets.
• Ability to use solar and electrical design software (e.g., PV design tools, CAD) and to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills, with attention to safety and quality.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, and field teams in a multicultural environment.
