About the Role We’re looking for a Solidity Engineer with deep experience in smart contract development, particularly in designing complex data structures and logic for decentralized marketplaces. This role is critical to shaping the core primitives of Interval’s on-chain data exchange, licensing systems, and dynamic pricing mechanisms. You’ll be working alongside world-class engineers, researchers, and product leaders to implement secure, scalable smart contracts that power the Interval protocol. We come from Chainlink, NEAR, LayerZero, Kraken, Coinbase, Point72, Curve, Twitter, and more. Responsibilities Design, implement, and test Solidity smart contracts for data tokenization, licensing, and pricing workflows. Develop robust on-chain data structures to represent enterprise datasets, metadata, and access conditions. Architect marketplace and exchange primitives including order books, escrow, dispute resolution, and royalties. Integrate pricing logic grounded in financial derivatives (e.g., options pricing, bonding curves, auction models). Optimize gas efficiency and ensure upgradability where needed using proxies or modular contracts. Collaborate with auditors and internal security teams to harden contracts against vulnerabilities. Work cross-functionally with product and protocol teams to define new features and mechanisms. Requirements 3+ years of Solidity development experience with a strong portfolio of deployed smart contracts. Proven understanding of EVM architecture, smart contract security, and gas optimization. Experience building or contributing to Web3 exchanges, NFT marketplaces, or DeFi protocols. Deep familiarity with data modeling, complex storage patterns, and Solidity-specific design patterns. Knowledge of token standards (ERC20, ERC721, ERC1155, ERC4626) and upgradeable contract frameworks. Exposure to pricing mechanisms, such as dynamic pricing curves, auctions, or option-like instruments. Proficient in development tools (Hardhat, Foundry, Tenderly, etc.) and testing frameworks (Chai, Waffle). Comfortable with Git-based workflows and agile engineering processes. Bonus Qualifications Background in quantitative finance, information theory, or data licensing models. Experience with cross-chain messaging or bridging technologies. Contributions to open-source projects in the Ethereum ecosystem. Interest in AI workflows, data provenance, or zero-knowledge cryptography.
