We are seeking a Solution Architect (with Data Architecture expertise) to support a public sector organization's digital transformation and service modernization initiatives. This role provides architectural expertise and strategic guidance for digital services, ensuring alignment with a common architecture vision and the iterative delivery of user-centric solutions. The Digital Architect Data will serve as the senior technical resource on cross-functional product delivery teams, guiding teams in rapid, iterative delivery while balancing user stories with technical tasks and contributing to the broader architectural vision for a platform of interconnected services.

This position requires someone who can lead solution architecture and provide technical direction to support digital service delivery across multiple initiatives. The role encompasses developing overall architectural plans with citizen-centered design principles, uncovering existing system context, providing technical recommendations and prototypes for feasibility assessment, and delivering solution designs that account for iterative implementation. The Digital Architect Data will guide teams in implementing digital services by facilitating frequent product delivery, determining tactical approaches to integration, identifying opportunities to leverage common components, providing detailed design guidance, reviewing and contributing to code changes, and mentoring product team members. Additional responsibilities include contributing to the architectural vision for common components and capabilities, developing principles and metrics for service quality, communicating architecture information to technical and non-technical audiences, and actively participating in the continuous improvement of architecture practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years - leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads
• 8+ years - data architect, software architect, or senior data engineer experience on cross-functional teams creating new software applications
• 5+ years - leading solution architecture and introducing overall technical vision for large-scale enterprise projects with system integrations
• 4+ years - leading domain modelling and database schema design for transactional and reporting systems
• 5+ years - strong communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field of study, or equivalent qualifications

Nice to Have

• 3+ years - aligning data architecture with organizational data strategies, digital service delivery goals, and emerging AI-enabled business capabilities
• 3+ years - applying data governance principles to ensure data consistency, quality, compliance, metadata management, and responsible use of data for analytics and AI solutions
• 4+ years - applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principles
• 5+ years - architecting solutions that leverage relational and non-relational databases, analytics platforms, and AI technologies, including data modeling, performance optimization, and delivery of actionable insights
• 2+ years - collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed data interoperability and standardization practices into product development workflows
• 5+ years - incrementally transforming legacy systems into modern digital and data-driven services across multiple releases, leveraging cloud-native and AI-enabled technologies
• 2+ years - experience with a large public sector organization's information technology and information management policies, standards and guidelines
• 3+ years - working within an organization equivalent in size and complexity to a large public sector organization, supporting enterprise-scale data, analytics, and digital transformation initiatives
