Solution Architect Engineering Lead

We are currently seeking a Solution Architect Engineering Lead reporting directly to Enterprise Architect Director to join our team based in Rome, Italy.

About the role:

The Solution Architect Engineering Lead is providing dedicated digital support for the Engineering functions, within T.EN, ensuring alignment between enterprise architecture principles, business architecture and product delivery.

This role acts as a bridge between business needs and digital platforms, defining solution’s architecture and driving coherence, innovation, and operational efficiency within the product's lifecycle.

This role involves participating to product’s Framing phase and Design Phase, supporting the Execution Phase and delivering documentation during the whole product lifecycle, especially Product Architecture Reference Document, architecture reviews and finally promoting any action which can help reducing the T.EN technical debt.

Business & Architecture Alignment

• Collaborate with Engineering stakeholders to understand business strategies, priorities, and requirements.
• Translate business needs into solution architectures aligned with enterprise standards.
• Support business transformation and process optimization initiatives.
• Contribute to application rationalization and technology strategy decisions.
• Define and maintain business capabilities, system dependencies, and conceptual data models.

Solution Architecture

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for Engineering products and platforms.
• Define target-state architectures and roadmap evolution.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
• Support delivery teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Produce and maintain architecture documentation and technical standards.
• Ensure consistency across applications, integrations, and data flows.

Governance & Compliance

• Participate in architecture reviews and governance processes.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture guidelines.
• Promote best practices in solution design, integration, and technology adoption.
• Support cybersecurity, data management, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Contribute to technical debt reduction and lifecycle management activities.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate emerging technologies and architecture patterns.
• Support innovation initiatives, proof-of-value activities, and technology assessments.
• Promote adoption of cloud, data, and AI-enabled solutions where business value can be demonstrated.
• Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and user experience.

Leadership

• Provide leadership and mentoring to architects and technical teams.
• Facilitate collaboration across business and digital organizations.
• Coordinate architecture activities across multiple products and initiatives.
• Promote knowledge sharing and architecture community best practices.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• Significant experience in IT and Digital organizations, including extensive experience in Solution Architecture roles.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale business solutions.
• Experience leading architecture initiatives across complex environments.
• Previous experience managing or mentoring technical teams.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of Solution Architecture principles and methodologies.
• Experience with enterprise application architecture and integration patterns.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of business capability modelling, application architecture, and data architecture.
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF.
• Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and product-centric organizations.
• Understanding of cybersecurity and governance principles.
• Experience with digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.

Compensation

• Annual gross salary ranging from € 63.140,80 - € 78.926,00, determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications and internal equity.
• Position classified under the relevant Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanico).
• Eligibility for an annual performance bonus in line with company policy.
