Show job description
Super Retail Group is the proud owner of four iconic brands: Supercheap Auto, rebel, BCF and Macpac, and is one of Australia and New Zealand's largest retailers. The talent of our teams and their passion for providing an experience which inspires and enhances our customers’ leisure time drives our culture of innovation and opportunity.

We're changing how product moves through our network. Over a multi-year program, we're building pallet and carton cross-dock flows across our National and Regional DCs, and we're hiring a hands-on delivery leader to design them, build them and make them work on the floor.

About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Solution Delivery, you'll design and deliver cross-dock flows across our National and Regional DCs: pallet cross dock first, then carton flow-through, introduced into live sites without hurting store service.

You'll work alongside our Solution Delivery Manager – Supply Enablement to agree inbound standards and which suppliers and SKUs flow pallet, carton or stock-holding. You'll also partner with our Solution Delivery Manager – Store Solutions to optimise product flow from supplier to shelf.

Your Key Responsibilities Include

  • Designing pallet and carton cross-dock processes and layouts: dock door allocation, staging lanes, inbound-to-outbound matching, dwell targets and yard management
  • Rolling out cross-dock flows into operating Regional DCs, protecting peak with parallel running and rollback plans
  • Leading operational readiness and ramp-up for the National DC: volume testing, labour ramp and go-live criteria
  • Designing WMS cross-dock processes (flow-through receiving, ASN-driven allocation), then writing requirements, run UAT and cut over
  • Modelling labour, dock and staging capacity under volume scenarios, and aligning supplier arrivals, linehaul and store delivery windows
  • Writing SOPs, training shift teams and building WHS into the design (traffic management, manual handling, materials handling equipment)
  • Owning dwell time, dock-to-stock, outbound on-time and cost per unit through cross dock

Enjoy the flexibility of being based in either Brisbane (Strathpine) or Sydney (Rhodes), with a hybrid work model that combines collaboration onsite at least three days per week.

About You

This is a delivery role, not an advisory one. Program governance and executive reporting sit with the Head of Solution Delivery, so your time goes into the dock, the WMS and the shift teams who make it work.

You know cross dock from the floor up: you can trace a pallet from inbound trailer to outbound load and name every point where it waits, and you know how a cross-dock receipt differs from a standard put-away in a WMS and what happens on the dock when an ASN doesn't match the delivery. You've changed a live DC without missing peak, ramped up a new site, and you're credible on the floor.

You'll Bring

  • Cross-dock or flow-through process and layout design in a retail or distribution network
  • Live-site DC change and new-site commissioning or ramp-up
  • WMS process design, including requirements, UAT and cutover
  • SOP development, shift team training and WHS in operational design
  • Cross-functional delivery across DC Operations, Transport, IT and Safety without line authority
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or similar

WHY JOIN US?

  • You'll join an organisation with a culture driven by innovation and creating awesome experiences for our customers and teams, and work alongside a diverse team across Super Retail Group that is representative of the communities we work in
  • Super Retail Group is a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation holder
  • We are committed to your professional development and will support on-going opportunities for both learning and progression
  • You will get access to generous discounts across all Super Retail Group brands, as well as access to our Perks Programme, including discounts on Health and Wellbeing, Entertainment, Travel and Accommodation and more

Our Culture of Inclusion

Super Retail Group is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We support, promote and celebrate diversity and we recognise the benefits a culture of inclusion brings to our workplace and customer experience.
