PURPOSE

The Solution & Design Authority Lead is responsible for the overall technical architecture, solution governance, and design assurance of airport technology and managed services programmes. The role ensures that all proposed and delivered solutions meet customer requirements, business objectives, operational needs, security standards, and enterprise architecture principles.

The role serves as the technical authority throughout the solution lifecycle from bid support through design, implementation, testing, and operational acceptance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Solution Architecture Leadership

Define end-to-end solution architecture across airport operational technologies, ICT infrastructure, cloud services, networks, cybersecurity, and managed services.
Ensure alignment with customer business objectives and operational requirements.
Develop solution roadmaps and technical strategies.

Design Governance

Chair design reviews and architecture assurance processes.
Establish technical standards, design principles, and engineering best practices.
Ensure consistency and interoperability across multiple technology domains.

Bid & Pursuit Support

Support business development and pursuit activities through technical leadership.
Develop solution concepts, technical responses, and implementation approaches.
Participate in customer workshops, presentations, and solution demonstrations.

Technical Risk Management

Identify technical risks, constraints, and dependencies.
Develop mitigation strategies and alternative design options.
Ensure resilience, scalability, security, and availability requirements are addressed.

Standards & Compliance

Ensure compliance with airport operational requirements, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and cybersecurity frameworks.
Collaborate with Centres of Excellence and subject matter experts to incorporate best practices and reusable frameworks.

Delivery Support

Provide technical oversight during implementation, integration, testing, and commissioning.
Support resolution of complex technical issues during delivery and operation.
Maintain technical accountability through project lifecycle stages.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

10+ years of solution architecture or systems engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of airport technologies, ICT infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and systems integration.
Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and design governance processes.
Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
