Solution Engineer, Microsoft Ecosystem Solutions
RidgePointRemote | Anywhere in the Middle East & Africa
Who we are
RidgePoint is the regional operating arm for B2B software vendors expanding into the Middle East and Africa. Our current practice is built around the Microsoft estate: we bring specialist software to organizations that run their business on Windows, Microsoft 365 and Azure, and we help them get the full return on that investment.
We are the Master Distributor for Recast Software across MEA, our anchor partnership. You will be the technical lead on both Recast product lines: Right Click Tools for endpoint management and automation, and Application Workspace for application delivery. Data and workspace governance and process automation are next on our roadmap, and you will help us judge, technically, which vendors deserve a place in it. Our customers include central banks, energy majors and government authorities, and we reach them directly and through a partner network of resellers, MSPs and system integrators that we are building out across the region.
We are a small team, deliberately. Everyone here is close to the customer and close to the vendors. If you want to be a name on an org chart, this isn’t for you. If you want to be the engineer a customer trusts to tell them the truth about their environment, read on.
Why this role is different
This is a presales role built for new business. You and the Account Executive are a two-person hunting team: they open the door, you prove we belong in the room. Most of the customers you meet won’t know us yet, and most will already have invested heavily in Microsoft tooling. Your job is to show them, on their own estate, where time, control and risk are being lost, and whether we can fix it. Sometimes the honest answer is no, and you’ll be the one to say it.
You’ll work across both of our routes to market. With direct customers, you run discovery, demos and proofs of concept. With partners, you make their engineers capable of doing the same, so our reach grows beyond the hours in your week.
You’re not a demo machine. You’re the person who decides whether a technical evaluation is worth running, designs it so it proves something, and makes sure what we promise in presales is what the customer actually gets.
What you’ll do
- Work alongside the Account Executive on every qualified opportunity, from first discovery call to signed order, and own the technical side of MEDDIC: decision criteria, the technical champion, and how the customer will judge success
- Run technical discovery on the customer’s Microsoft estate: how devices are managed, how applications are packaged and delivered, and where manual effort and risk are hiding
- Deliver demos of Recast Right Click Tools and Application Workspace built around the customer’s own scenarios, not a standard script, and show how the two fit together when a customer needs both
- Plan and run proofs of concept: agree success criteria in writing before you start, build the environment with the customer, and close each one with a clear result and a decision
- Produce the technical material that wins deals in regulated and public-sector accounts: solution designs, architecture diagrams, security and compliance responses, and RFP answers
- Enable partners: train reseller and system integrator engineers, support their first deals hands-on, and build them up until they can run discovery and demos without you
- Hand off cleanly to implementation and support, so the scope sold is the scope delivered
- Be the technical voice of the field to vendor HQs: feature gaps, regional requirements, and what competitors are doing in the accounts you see
- Help evaluate new vendors technically as the portfolio grows, so we only add products we can stand behind
- Keep our CRM and customer portal current with technical notes, POC status and environment details, because a small team covering a large territory lives or dies on clean information
What you bring
- 5+ years in presales or solution engineering, or senior endpoint and end-user computing engineering with real customer-facing exposure, ideally at a distributor, VAR, system integrator or ISV in the Microsoft ecosystem
- Hands-on depth in Microsoft endpoint management: ConfigMgr and Intune, plus Entra ID and Active Directory. You’ve run them in production, not just read about them
- Solid grounding in application packaging and delivery at enterprise scale (MSI, MSIX, deployment and update processes) and the operational pain that comes with it
- Comfortable with PowerShell, and able to stand up a POC environment on Windows Server and SQL Server yourself
- Experience running proofs of concept and writing technical responses for enterprise and public-sector buyers, ideally in the GCC or Africa
- Able to present to a CIO and a sysadmin in the same meeting and keep both engaged
- Exposure to virtual desktops (AVD, Citrix), macOS management, Microsoft 365 governance or Power Platform is a plus, as are Microsoft certifications such as Endpoint Administrator
- Fluent English is a must. Arabic is a strong advantage and will rank you higher. French is a plus for francophone Africa
- Fully remote from anywhere in the Middle East or Africa, with the right to work in your country of residence and regular travel to customers, partners and the team
Who you are (this matters as much as the CV)
- A builder first. You would rather show it working than explain it on a slide
- Honest under pressure. If it won’t work in their environment, you say so before the POC, not after
- A teacher by instinct. Making a partner’s engineer good at this is as satisfying as winning the deal yourself
- Commercially aware. A technical win that doesn’t move the deal forward isn’t a win
- Curious by default. You ask “why” before “how”
- Low ego, high ownership. We’re small enough that you’ll work outside your job title, and that’s the point
How to apply
Skip the cover letter. Send your CV to careers@ridgepoint.me with one paragraph on a proof of concept or technical evaluation you ran that decided a deal: what the customer doubted, what you proved, and what happened next.
