Solutions Architect – CSP Control Center (C3)

As C3 continues to expand globally and evolve into a multi-cloud commerce platform, we are looking for an experienced Solutions Architect to help scale our platform architecture, billing engine, cloud operations capabilities, and engineering excellence. Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Solutions Architect with 15–20 years of software engineering and architecture experience to lead the design, evolution, and scalability of C3's core platform. This role will serve as a technical leader responsible for architecting complex cloud commerce, subscription management, billing, reconciliation, taxation, and automation capabilities while mentoring engineering teams and partnering closely with Product, Customer Success, and Leadership teams. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong business understanding and has experience building and operating mission-critical SaaS platforms at scale. Key Responsibilities Platform Architecture & Engineering Leadership • Define and evolve the overall architecture of CSP Control Center. • Design scalable, secure, highly available, and maintainable platform services. • Lead architectural decisions across billing, subscriptions, cloud operations, integrations, reporting, and AI initiatives. • Establish engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices. Billing Engine & Cloud Commerce Platform • Own the architecture and evolution of C3's billing and commerce engine. • Design and optimize: o Subscription lifecycle management o Usage-based billing o Azure reconciliation o Invoicing o Taxation o Pricing engines o Revenue calculations o Multi-currency and multi-country billing • Ensure auditability, compliance, scalability, and data integrity across all financial operations. Database Architecture & Performance Optimization • Design and optimize large-scale transactional database systems. • Drive improvements in: o Query performance o Indexing strategies o Data partitioning o Scalability o High availability o Data archival strategies • Lead performance tuning initiatives for mission-critical workloads. Cloud & Modern Application Architecture • Design cloud-native architectures using Microsoft Azure. • Guide adoption of: o Microservices o Event-driven architectures o API-first design o Distributed systems o Containerization o Observability and monitoring • Collaborate on future AWS and multi-cloud expansion initiatives. AI & Platform Innovation • Drive adoption of AI across engineering and product teams. • Evaluate opportunities for: o AI-assisted development o Intelligent billing insights o AI-powered customer experiences o Predictive analytics o Agentic workflows • Help shape the future AI strategy for C3. Technical Leadership & Mentorship • Mentor and coach engineering teams. • Conduct architecture reviews and code reviews. • Establish technical governance and quality standards. • Guide teams on scalability, reliability, security, and performance best practices. Production Support & Stakeholder Engagement • Act as the senior technical escalation point for critical platform issues. • Lead root cause analysis and remediation efforts. • Communicate technical findings effectively to executives, customers, and non-technical stakeholders. • Support strategic customer implementations and complex technical discussions. Requirements Required Qualifications Experience • 15–20 years of software engineering experience. • 8+ years in Solution Architecture, Technical Architecture, or Principal Engineering roles. • Proven experience building and scaling enterprise SaaS platforms. • Strong experience architecting billing, financial, subscription, commerce, or transaction-intensive systems. AI & Modern Engineering Skills Candidates should have hands-on experience using modern AI tools such as: • GitHub Copilot • Claude • Microsoft Copilot Experience leveraging AI to improve engineering productivity, architecture design, documentation, code quality, and development workflows is highly desirable. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in SaaS platforms, cloud architecture, billing systems, and large-scale transactional applications. They are equally comfortable discussing architecture with engineers, solving production challenges, mentoring teams, and advising leadership on long-term technology strategy. Most importantly, they should be passionate about building world-class cloud commerce infrastructure that powers the next generation of CSP Control Center.
