Job Overview

Plan A Technologies is seeking a proactive and hands-on Solutions Architect with strong experience in U.S. healthcare systems and regulations. This role requires someone who can translate complex healthcare business needs into scalable, secure, and compliant technical solutions—from discovery through delivery.

You will work across business, product, and engineering teams to design and implement enterprise-grade solutions, ensuring alignment with healthcare standards (e.g., HIPAA) and interoperability requirements (e.g., EHR/EMR systems).

Please note: you must have at least 10+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in a Solutions Architect or Technical Lead role, and deep experience in U.S. healthcare systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • Own end-to-end solution architecture from discovery to delivery, ensuring alignment with business, product, and regulatory requirements.
  • Design scalable, secure, and compliant architectures, particularly for healthcare systems handling sensitive patient data.
  • Act as the primary technical partner to stakeholders, translating healthcare workflows, clinical data, and regulatory constraints into technical solutions.
  • Lead architectural decisions around data integration, interoperability, and system design (e.g., EHR/EMR integrations, APIs, messaging).
  • Ensure solutions comply with U.S. healthcare regulations and standards (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, etc.).
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to guide implementation, ensuring best practices in coding, security, performance, and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship, supporting delivery teams without heavy reliance on project management structures.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early, and proactively drive resolution.
  • Contribute to estimation, architecture documentation, and technical strategy.
  • Engage with clients and internal teams through technical discussions, workshops, and solution presentations.

Experience

  • 10+ years of software development experience, with strong expertise in C#/.NET.
  • 3+ years in a Solutions Architect or Technical Lead role, owning delivery and architectural decisions.
  • Deep experience in U.S. healthcare systems, including: Health systems, payers, or healthcare SaaS platforms; Electronic Health Records (EHR/EMR); healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR), and regulatory compliance (HIPAA and related frameworks)
  • Strong experience designing data-driven and integration-heavy systems, including APIs and event-driven architectures.
  • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including designing secure and compliant cloud solutions.
  • Solid understanding of security, privacy, and data protection, especially for sensitive healthcare data.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern SDLC practices.
  • Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, distributed environments, driving initiatives without waiting for direction.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with global/distributed teams is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
