Wi-Fi Solutions Engineer
Deployment, Support, & Design
Who We Are

Airtower Networks delivers total managed services and mobile connectivity for the commercial real estate and enterprise sector.

We design, deploy, own and operate in-building cellular and public safety networks that tenants, first responders, and building owners rely on every day. If you want a fast-growing company that invests in your development, pays competitively, and promotes from within, read on.

The Role

We are looking for a remote and hands-on engineer who gets properties online and keeps them running well. Most of the time will be dedicated to deployment and support. The rest goes to network design and joining sales conversations as the technical expert.
  • Deploy (about 40%): Configure and commission APs, switches, gateways and firewalls. Work with construction and field teams to execute the design. Test, close out and document each network.
  • Support (about 40%): Handle remote and occasional onsite trouble tickets to meet client SLAs. Use monitoring and performance data to troubleshoot and tune existing networks.
  • Design and light pre-sales (about 20%): Build Wi-Fi designs, BOMs and SOWs from CAD drawings. Join client meetings and site walks as the engineering lead. Senior engineers review your designs.
Location: Southeast & South Central US, through Texas | Remote/Hybrid, up to 20% travel

What We Expect at This Level
  • Ability to run a deployment from configuration to close-out with little supervision.
  • Being able to resolve most support tickets individually while knowing when to escalate.
  • Can produce a solid design and BOM that only needs light review.
  • Ability to explain a network plan clearly to property managers and owners.
  • This position doesn't carry a sales quota. Must be able to support the sales team as the technical voice.

OEMs
Must have hands-on experience with at least one of these, and be willing to learn the others:
  • Ruckus: Controller and cloud-managed WLAN configuration, AP provisioning and switching.
  • Aruba (HPE): Wireless controller and cloud management, switching and network access control.
  • Cisco / Meraki: Controller-based and cloud-managed wireless and switching.
  • RG Nets / Nomadix: Gateway setup for subscriber management, captive portals and RADIUS/AAA.
  • Ekahau: Predictive design, site surveys and post-install validation.

Must Have
  • 3+ years of hands-on commercial Wi-Fi and LAN experience covering configuration, deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Real deployment experience on at least one of the OEMs above.
  • Experience with predictive design and survey tools such as Ekahau.
  • Comfort reading CAD drawings and creating BOMs and network documentation.
  • Working knowledge of RF design (channel planning, power, roaming), plus VLANs, routing, DHCP/DNS and RADIUS/802.1X.

Nice to Have
  • MDU or hospitality managed-network experience.
  • Hands-on experience across more than one wireless OEM.
  • Industry or vendor certifications such as CWNA, CCNA or an OEM wireless certification.
  • A bachelor's degree. Equivalent experience and certifications count the same.

Compensation:
  • $90K-$110K base, depending on experience
We have listed this salary range with a good-faith minimum and maximum compensation. The final salary will vary depending on factors like experience, geographic location, and skills.
