Reporting to the Head of Estates Management and working closely with the Director of Estates and key stakeholders the Space Manager & Estates Business Partner will be the authoritative lead service owner for space management and will hold full responsibility for the planning and implementation of all changes in the allocation of space, aligning with the strategic ambitions of the department, and university more broadly. About the Role As Space Manager, you will be a key advisor to the Estates Leadership Team and University Executive, providing strategic expertise on the governance, planning and effective utilisation of space. As Estates Business Partner, you will work closely with Heads of Schools and Services, you will assess and plan space requirements against University standards, analyse future demand, and develop and deliver the University’s space strategy. You will also ensure that all space planning and design align with University design standards, masterplans and agreed aesthetics, helping to create coherent, welcoming and high-quality campuses. About You Degree in a relevant discipline such as Space Management, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Property Management, Architecture, Planning or equivalent relevant experience. Experience of using workplace management/CAFM systems, such as PLANON or equivalent. Detailed knowledge of space planning principles, utilisation methodologies and best practice. Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret, interrogate and present data effectively. Highly developed planning, organisational and prioritisation skills. Ability to generate, evaluate and implement innovative solutions and approaches. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Experience of working within a Higher Education environment or similarly complex organisation. Understanding of estate strategy development, master planning and space governance. Additional Information Salary Grade 8A - Starting from £48,823 rising to £56,536 per annum The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
