Are you passionate about aerospace and sustainability in space? Do you enjoy complex technical systems and thrive in stressful situations? Can you mentally decompose complicated operations methodically into concise steps? As an essential member of the Space Operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and commanding TURION's fleet of satellites in LEO. The primary duties include developing and executing the detailed concepts of operations for our spacecraft as well as helping to build out and automate our Mission Control System. This position requires sound software skills as well as an understanding of spacecraft systems. Responsibilities Monitor, assess, and maintain the operational health of Turion Space’s spacecraft fleet including defining, developing, and executing procedures to update spacecraft configuration, create and maintain alarm limits to alert mission operations of off-nominal spacecraft conditions Coordinate troubleshooting activities in response to satellite and network anomalies Assist in developing the tools necessary to efficiently control a fleet of spacecraft in orbit Identify, investigate, and execute procedures to resolve spacecraft system and subsystem deviations and anomalies Develop and distribute reports summarizing technical analysis findings and recommendations to include monthly and annual satellite health and status reports as well as anomaly resolution reports Support the development of requirements for acceptance and regression testing. Resolve issues related to ground telemetry tracking and commanding software updates Support development, launch, and in-orbit testing of new satellites Support On-Call responsibilities in rotation with other members of the team Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (Engineering, Math, Science, Computer Science) or equivalent experience Experience with programming languages, specifically Ruby or Python 1+ years of demonstrated success on past aerospace and/or satellite projects Knowledge of supporting satellite ground network infrastructure US Persons (US Citizen or Permanent Resident) Strong written and verbal communication of technical information Previous experience working with interdisciplinary teams to solve complex problems Preferred skills and experience Experience with the design, manufacturing, and testing of satellite systems and/or mechanisms Experience managing highly fault-tolerant systems Ability to lead/mentor more junior members of the mission operations team Ability to work autonomously and perform self-directed research Background knowledge in OpenC3 or similar satellite control software
