About the Assignment

We are looking for a Spanish Reviser & Translation Coordinator to support two key areas of a multilingual Translation Services function:

  • Coordinating translation requests and providing support to internal clients;

  • Translating and revising documents from English into Spanish.

The role is divided approximately equally between translation/revision and coordination activities, although this balance may vary depending on workload. The position will involve confidential, high-profile and time-sensitive projects requiring excellent organisation, accuracy and responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Translation and Revision

  • Translate documents from English into Spanish;

  • Coordinate with external translators and language service providers on larger projects;

  • Translate short texts and documents when urgent support is required;

  • Revise and proofread Spanish translations delivered by internal and external translators;

  • Provide feedback and guidance to translators;

  • Post-edit machine-translated content to improve efficiency and quality;

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding content, terminology and language requirements;

  • Ensure that translated content is consistent with approved organisational messaging;

  • Maintain the Spanish section of the translation database, including glossaries and translation memories;

  • Test and maintain translation tools and technologies.

Translation Coordination

  • Manage a network of external translators and language service providers;

  • Assign translation tasks, request quotations and maintain supplier information;

  • Support quotation requests and supplier onboarding processes;

  • Monitor translation-related purchase orders, budgets, quotations and invoices;

  • Review incoming translation requests and clarify scope, target languages and deadlines;

  • Prepare documents for translation, including format checks, word counts and pre-translation processing;

  • Finalise translated documents and ensure that the layout is ready for delivery;

  • Coordinate translation projects across multiple languages and stakeholders;

  • Agree on timelines with internal clients and monitor project progress;

  • Coordinate document versions for projects involving frequent updates;

  • Maintain computer-assisted translation tools and related systems;

  • Provide technical support to translators and liaise with software providers when required;

  • Provide administrative support to the Translation Lead;

  • Carry out any other relevant duties related to the role.

Required Experience

Translation and Revision

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a translator, reviser or proofreader, preferably in the health, scientific, financial or legal sectors;

  • Expert knowledge of computer-assisted translation tools;

  • Experience maintaining glossaries, terminology databases and translation memories.

Coordination

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in translation project management or language services coordination;

  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders;

  • Experience using project management systems, client portals and workflow tools;

  • Experience monitoring invoices and processing them through a financial or administrative system.

Qualifications and Skills

  • University degree in Translation, Languages or another relevant field, or an equivalent combination of professional experience and translation certifications;

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment;

  • Knowledge of global health, international development or a related field would be an advantage;

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills;

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities;

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Languages

  • Fluent English and Spanish;

  • French would be an advantage.
