Who are we?

We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.

Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.

What you will be doing:

As a Speak Up Investigation Manager, you'll play a key role in helping to maintain a safe, ethical, and accountable culture. You'll lead or support investigations into concerns raised through our Speak Up channels, working independently to establish the facts, deliver fair and evidence-based outcomes, and identify opportunities to strengthen our culture, controls, and ways of working. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the business and provide valuable insights that help ensure colleagues feel confident to speak up and be heard.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience working within a Speak Up/whistleblowing function with a strong understanding of Speak Up frameworks, governance, confidentiality, and reporter protection.
  • Experience managing concerns raised through Speak Up channels, including case intake, triage, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and determination of appropriate investigation approaches.
  • Experience managing workplace investigations, including developing investigation plans, gathering, and assessing evidence, conducting interviews and producing clear, well-reasoned investigation reports.
  • Great judgement and the ability to reach fair, balanced and evidence-based conclusion in complex and sensitive situations.
  • Excellent investigative interviewing skills, including interviewing reporters, witness, and subjects of investigations.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify themes, root causes, control weaknesses, and cultural risks and make practical recommendations.
  • Ideally from a financial services background.

We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.

If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
