Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary
This position is in the greater St. Louis, MO area and the successful candidate will be required to be present in the office as scheduled.
Compiles, enters and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties.
Job Responsibilities
· Reviews vendor data on dissimilar vendor invoices to determine if the vendor is currently in the system or whether a new vendor record needs to be added. As necessary, sets up new vendor records.
· Requests and obtains Forms W-9 as necessary.
· Enters banking information on the vendor record if the vendor is to be paid by ACH.
· Determines if invoices have been properly approved and includes support documentation, such as lien waivers, prior to data entry.
· Accurately enter data from invoices or check requests in required fields in the accounts payable system and forwards for review.
· Uploads invoice data into the accounts payable system from various sources.
· Answers agency payment inquiries.
· Assists in monthly closings.
· Assists with special projects as directed by the Accounts Payable Supervisor or other managers as directed.

- Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word

- Detail-oriented in reviewing and entering invoice and vendor data.
- Ability to execute calculations such as discounts, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to read and understand the diverse vendor invoices received for processing by AP. Ability to easily communicate in writing and in speech in the English language.
- Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems and communicate with team members or management to reach problem resolution.
- Able to deal effectively with people, both within the Archdiocese and vendors.
- Able to enter data within the required timeframe. Also able to look ahead at upcoming situations and plan accordingly.
- Communicates well. Informs Supervisor of potential problems clearly and in a timely manner. Asks the necessary questions about payables.
- Willing and able to change schedule and routine to meet the needs of the job, the department and the Finance Office.
- Willing to help in other areas of the Finance Office as needed.
- Willing to consistently and continually review processes with an eye to improve methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- General Knowledge of Accounts Payable Processes--vendor terms, discounts, invoices vs. statements would be a plus but is not required.
Relationships Requirements
- Daily contact with other members of the Accounts Payable team, Finance Office Accountants and various employees at our agencies, offices and schools.
