Purpose & Impact

The Sprinkler Design Squad Lead is responsible for leading and developing a team of Sprinkler Designers and Sprinkler Reviewers, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality fire sprinkler system designs for international clients.

This role combines technical leadership, people management, quality assurance, and operational coordination. By fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence, the Sprinkler Design Squad Lead directly contributes to project success, client satisfaction, and the growth of JEM's design capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Sprinkler Designers and Sprinkler Reviewers.
• Manage team capacity, project assignments, and workload distribution to ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Monitor project schedules and team performance to ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support on fire sprinkler system design, drafting standards, and project requirements.
• Oversee design review activities and ensure compliance with NFPA standards, client specifications, and internal procedures.
• Establish and maintain design quality benchmarks, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct regular development sessions, performance evaluations, and career development discussions.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and succession planning efforts.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering Managers, and other stakeholders to align priorities and project objectives.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and scalability.
• Track and report key performance indicators related to quality, delivery, utilization, and team engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in fire sprinkler system design.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing technical teams.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoSPRING.
• Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Experience working with remote and international teams is a plus.

Workplace & Infrastructure

• Location: São Paulo/SP or Joinville/SC.
• Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
• Work Model: Hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 day remote.
• Contract Type: Independent Contractor (PJ), indefinite term.
