Job Title: Sprinkler Designer Job Description The Sprinkler Designer will design and coordinate fire sprinkler systems for tenant fit-outs, offices, and similar commercial projects using AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks. This role requires 3–9 years of relevant experience and involves producing code-compliant shop drawings, collaborating closely with project stakeholders, and supporting the successful delivery of fire protection projects from design through coordination. Responsibilities Design and lay out fire sprinkler systems for tenant fit-outs, office spaces, and other commercial projects. Develop detailed shop drawings and plans in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks that meet applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements. Read, interpret, and work from architectural, structural, and mechanical blueprints and construction documents. Coordinate sprinkler system designs with other building systems to avoid conflicts and ensure constructability. Collaborate and communicate with local officials, engineers, architects, and customers throughout the design and coordination process. Incorporate feedback from project stakeholders and make necessary design revisions in a timely manner. Ensure designs comply with relevant fire protection codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Work closely with internal teams, including leadership, to align designs with company standards and project objectives. Support project execution by providing design-related clarification and updates as needed. Essential Skills 3–9 years of experience in fire sprinkler design or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in Revit for fire protection and sprinkler system design. Proficiency in Navisworks for coordination and clash detection of sprinkler systems. Experience using AutoCAD for creating and modifying design drawings. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical construction documents. Knowledge of applicable fire protection codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing shop drawings and plans. Effective communication skills for working with local officials, engineers, architects, and customers. Additional Skills & Qualifications NICET certification in fire protection or a related discipline preferred. Experience with electrical aspects related to fire protection systems is beneficial. Ability to adapt to company-specific software and operational processes within approximately 1–6 months. Capacity to work collaboratively under the guidance of senior leadership while managing individual design tasks independently. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Work Environment The Sprinkler Designer will work in a professional office environment within a large, established fire protection organization known for strong employee tenure and stability. The role involves daily use of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks, along with other company-specific design tools. The position typically begins fully on-site to allow the designer to become familiar with the company’s software, standards, and operational processes. After an acclimation period of approximately 1–6 months, the role may transition to a hybrid schedule with 2–3 days of remote work per week, depending on performance and business needs. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.88/hr.
