SQL Database Administrator - remote contract

We are seeking a Junior SQL DBA for a remote day rate contract with a top Irish owned multinational.

RESPONSIBILITIES

·Responsible for the administration of existing enterprise databases and the analysis, design and creation of new databases

·Data modelling, database optimization, understanding and implementation of schemas, and the ability to interpret and write complex SQL queries

·Proactively monitor systems for optimum performance and capacity constraints.

·Performing Backups of the database.

·Responsibility for documenting the configuration of the system.

·Troubleshooting any reported problems. 2nd Line support to Global support.

·Monitoring and alerting database outages / failures.

·Work with software development function on database development improvements and schema reviews.

·Support of all application software both in production and QA.

·SQL/PLSQL and Database Reporting Support.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

·1-2 years SQL Server database administration experience

·SQL programming experience.
