Title : Sr Accountant Reporting to : Manager, Corporate Accounting Department : Finance Location : Boston Quickbase is seeking a motivated and systems-oriented Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our Accounting team. This individual will play an important role in general ledger accounting, the monthly close, accounting operations, and financial process improvements. The position will initially support several areas across accounts payable, cash, payroll, fixed assets, expenses, intercompany accounting, and other close-related activities. Responsibilities may evolve over time based on business priorities, organizational growth, and the needs of the Accounting team. The ideal candidate combines a strong accounting foundation with curiosity, sound judgment, and an interest in systems, automation, and scalable processes. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, investigating issues, and partnering across Accounting, Finance, and the broader organization. Key Responsibilities Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, allocations, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Oversee or support assigned general ledger and operational accounting areas, which may include cash, fixed assets, payroll, accounts payable, employee expenses, tax-related activity, and intercompany accounting. Develop a strong understanding of the procure-to-pay process and help oversee accounting activities and controls associated with Quickbase's internal P2P application. Participate in finance system implementations and enhancements, including testing, issue resolution, documentation, and process design. Oversee or support the Navan travel and expense reimbursement process and help resolve employee expense issues. Review cash reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and assist with reporting on the company's cash position. Support fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, and related reconciliations. Prepare payroll-related entries, accruals, and reconciliations and investigate accounting differences as needed. Partner with FP&A and other stakeholders during the close to ensure transactions are complete, properly classified, and recorded in the appropriate period. Support accounting for new and existing entities, including reviewing work performed by external service providers and assisting with intercompany entries and reconciliations. Assist with tax-related accounting activities, payment coordination, and supporting schedules. Support international accounting activities, including working with foreign entities, external service providers, and related reporting requirements. Serve as a backup for other senior members of the Accounting team, providing coverage and continuity for key accounting processes as needed. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate manual accounting activities, using data-analysis and AI-enabled tools where appropriate. Support audits, system projects, and other accounting initiatives, and provide backup support across Accounting and Finance processes as needed. Take on additional responsibilities as the business, systems environment, and Accounting organization continue to evolve. Systems Environment This position will work across Quickbase's finance technology environment, including: NetSuite – our ERP, used for consolidation, general ledger, and financial reporting. P2P – Quickbase's internal procure-to-pay application. Navan – travel and employee expense management. Salesforce – customer relationship management, used for supporting transaction research. BillingPlatform – our billing tool, primarily owned by the Revenue team, with limited involvement from this position as needed. The Senior General Ledger Accountant will be expected to understand how financial information flows between systems and help investigate and resolve accounting, data, and integration issues. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Four or more years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on general ledger and month-end close responsibilities. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles. Experience preparing journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial analyses. Experience working with ERP and financial systems. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyze detailed financial data. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to independently investigate accounting and system issues. Excellent attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, Payroll, Tax, and other business partners. Preferred Qualifications Experience using NetSuite, including familiarity with fixed asset functionality. Experience in a technology, software, SaaS, or other fast-paced business environment. Familiarity with procure-to-pay and travel and expense processes. Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
