Position Overview

This position functions as a key member of the Corporate Accounting team and includes extensive involvement in the monthly close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting support, and internal controls. This individual will work closely with business partners across Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other corporate functions to resolve issues, improve processes, and support strategic initiatives.

The Senior Accountant will gain exposure to a wide range of accounting activities within a publicly traded company, including financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, business process improvement, and acquisition integration activities. This position offers significant exposure to public company accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, acquisition integration, and executive leadership. What You'll Do:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing duties associated with monthly financial close, maintaining a strong internal control environment, financial reporting support, audit coordination, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables including journal entries, account reconciliations, fluctuation analyses, and financial reporting support in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and well-supported account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Research accounting transactions, determine the appropriate accounting treatment, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements when needed.
  • Analyze monthly operating results and investigate significant trends and variances to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide meaningful business insights, and opportunities requiring management attention.
  • Develop, document, implement, and maintain accounting processes, internal controls, and system procedures.
  • Research accounting guidance and document conclusions for complex or non-routine transactions.
  • Support interim and annual external audits, including preparation of schedules, analyses, and audit documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining and improving the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley compliance framework and internal control environment.
  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.
  • Prepare summaries and analysis for Accounting and Finance leadership to support decision-making and financial reporting.
  • Support accounting and integration activities related to acquisitions, including process harmonization, control implementation, and reporting requirements.
  • Identify and lead process improvement opportunities that enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve scalability.
  • Utilize technology, automation, and data analytics tools to improve reporting processes and deliver meaningful business insights.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
  • Assist other team members with related responsibilities as needed.

Skills We Are Seeking:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • CPA, CPA candidate, or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting.
  • Experience in public accounting, a publicly traded company, or a large multi-location organization preferred.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience with monthly close, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
  • Understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance concepts.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with large ERP systems; Microsoft AX Dynamics (D365) preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with Power BI, data analytics, or reporting automation tools is a plus.
