Your work days are brighter here. We’re obsessed with making hard work pay off, for our people, our customers, and the world around us. As a Fortune 500 company and a leading AI platform for managing people, money, and agents, we’re shaping the future of work so teams can reach their potential and focus on what matters most. The minute you join, you’ll feel it. Not just in the products we build, but in how we show up for each other. Our culture is rooted in integrity, empathy, and shared enthusiasm. We’re in this together, tackling big challenges with bold ideas and genuine care. We look for curious minds and courageous collaborators who bring sun-drenched optimism and drive. Whether you're building smarter solutions, supporting customers, or creating a space where everyone belongs, you’ll do meaningful work with Workmates who’ve got your back. In return, we’ll give you the trust to take risks, the tools to grow, the skills to develop and the support of a company invested in you for the long haul. So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you’ve found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too. About the Team At Workday, we help the world’s largest organizations adapt to what’s next by bringing finance, HR, and planning into a single enterprise cloud. We work hard, and we’re serious about what we do. But we like to have fun too! We put people first, celebrate diversity, drive innovation, and do good in the communities where we live and work. The Procurement Operations team manages all REQs, POs, purchasing documents, invoice reconciliation, program management, quarterly audits, supplier set ups, supplier maintenance, supplier approvals, supplier inactivations, as well as other expanding responsibilities. The team also helps drive projects related to automation and efficiencies and partners with Workday on Workday (WoW) and Product teams to enhance, test, and uptake Workday functionality on an ongoing basis. You will be part of the Purchasing / Procurement Operations team, reporting to the Associate Manager, Procurement Operations, and working closely with Finance, Accounts Payable, Suppliers, and business stakeholders across Workday. About the Role As a Sr. Associate Purchasing Analyst (P2), you will support key day‑to‑day operations within the Procure‑to‑Pay (P2P) workstream and help ensure a consistent, customer‑focused purchasing experience. You will work closely with more senior analysts and your manager to review purchase requisitions and related documentation, help manage approvals, support purchase order processing, reconcile basic invoice discrepancies, and provide frontline support to internal customers. You will leverage your developing knowledge of the Source‑to‑Pay process, your familiarity with financial systems and tools, and your understanding of Workday Procurement and Financial functionality (as applicable to the role) to deliver accurate and timely purchasing support. In this role, you will follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain strong attention to detail, and contribute to process improvements and scalable solutions over time. This role has room for growth in scope and responsibility. A successful candidate will be eager to learn, open to feedback, and flexible as the role evolves. Responsibilities Serve as a frontline point of contact for internal customers on routine purchasing‑related questions, providing clear, timely responses and ensuring a positive customer experience. Review purchase requisitions for basic accuracy, completeness, and appropriate coding; route for proper approvals and support timely processing of purchase orders under guidance from more senior team members. Apply developing knowledge of the end‑to‑end Source‑to‑Pay process and related cross‑functional dependencies to support smooth day‑to‑day procurement operations. Follow established Standard Operating Procedures to maintain quality, consistency, compliance, and support SOX control requirements, raising questions or issues when exceptions arise. Partner with Accounts Payable and senior analysts to help investigate and reconcile straightforward invoice and receiving transaction discrepancies, escalating more complex issues as needed. Assist with supplier‑related activities, such as supplier set ups, maintenance, and updates, in alignment with Procurement Operations policies and controls. Use available reports and basic data analysis to monitor work queues, track turnaround times, and highlight trends or issues to more senior team members. Leverage Workday Procurement and Financial functionality to complete day‑to‑day tasks and share feedback on recurring issues or potential enhancements with teammates and system owners. Build collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and suppliers; support the preparation and delivery of training materials and sessions on purchasing processes and tools as your expertise grows. Contribute to team process‑improvement and efficiency efforts, support recurring daily, monthly, and quarterly tasks, and actively participate in achieving team and organizational goals in line with Workday’s Core Values. About You Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of experience in a Procurement Buyer, Purchasing Analyst, Procurement Operations, Accounts Payable, or closely related finance operations role. Some experience working with purchase requisitions and/or purchase orders in a transactional environment. Other Qualifications Procurement interest and systems familiarity – Strong interest in procurement, purchasing operations, and end-to-end Source-to-Pay processes, with familiarity in financial systems and tools (Workday Procurement and/or Workday Financials is a plus). Communication and stakeholder partnership – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset, able to partner effectively with internal stakeholders and build strong working relationships across a global team, regions, and time zones. Organization and task management – Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with guidance while maintaining high quality, even in a fast-paced, highly transactional environment. Analytical and detail-oriented execution – Detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving skills, able to follow through on assigned tasks to completion and comfortable working with data and reports. Initiative and technical proficiency – Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and willingness to learn new systems/processes/tools; proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with software/SaaS industry experience being helpful but not required. Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
