Sr Backend Engineer (cod: RN - CR)

Job Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the development of high-performance backend solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and reactive programming, with experience building scalable, event-driven systems.
This position will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining microservices that support real-time pricing and promotions. The role will work extensively with Kafka, Project Reactor, Spring WebFlux, and NoSQL databases such as Couchbase, while following a testing-first mindset and modern CI/CD practices.

Key Responsibilities:

● Design, develop, and maintain robust, high-performance microservices using Java 11+ and Spring Boot.
● Build scalable backend APIs and contribute to the architecture of distributed microservices.
● Develop reactive and non-blocking applications using Project Reactor and Spring WebFlux.
● Apply functional and reactive programming principles to backend development.
● Design and implement event-driven solutions using Kafka for messaging and stream processing.
● Manage and scale data using Couchbase and other NoSQL database technologies.
● Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following software development best practices.
● Develop and maintain strong unit and integration test coverage.
● Participate actively in code reviews, technical design discussions, and agile development cycles.
● Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and contribute to overall DevOps practices.
● Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Required Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
● Strong professional experience developing applications with Java 11 or newer.
● Strong expertise in Spring Boot and microservices architectures.
● Hands-on experience with Project Reactor and Spring WebFlux for developing reactive and non-blocking applications.
● Solid understanding of functional programming and reactive programming concepts.
● Experience working with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
● Experience with Couchbase and/or other NoSQL databases.
● Strong understanding of unit and integration testing practices.
● Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
● Experience working in Agile development environments.
● Fluent English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, and CloudWatch.
● Experience with large-scale MongoDB implementations.
● Experience with Elasticsearch.
● Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React or Next.js.
● Experience working with high-performance, real-time applications.
