HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT:

The Senior Benefits Analyst is responsible for administration and ongoing management of U.S. benefit programs, ensuring plans are administered accurately, communicated effectively, and maintained in compliance with applicable regulations. Leads key initiatives including annual open enrollment, vendor oversight, compliance and audit activities, benefits communications, and benefits system administration and data integrations. Serves as a primary resource for Team Members, Retirees, and HR partners while collaborating with vendors, payroll, HRIS, and Finance/Accounting to share information and resolve issues to deliver an effective benefits experience.

THE DETAILS:

  • Manage broker, vendor, and third-party administrator relationships, including new vendor and benefit implementations, while maintaining communication and accountability for service quality
  • Review benefit plan documents and monitor regulatory changes to ensure accurate administration, communication, and compliance. Conduct required testing and audits, submit reports and disclosures, distribute notices, and recommend program updates
  • Lead annual benefits open enrollment and year-round communications, including vendor coordination, presentations, website and guide updates, system testing, and Team Member support
  • Guide Team Members, Retirees, and site Human Resources teams on benefit plans, coverage, policies, procedures, and enrollment; research issues and escalate to vendors as needed
  • Review and process vendor invoices, allocate expenses, resolve discrepancies with vendors, Accounting, and Finance, support budget forecasts, respond to financial audit requests, and compile annual valuation data
  • Administer the benefits system and ensure data accuracy, partnering with vendors, HRIS, and Payroll on upgrades, enhancements, audits, issue resolution, and system integrations

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements
  • Advanced degree(s) and professional designation of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), preferred
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to search out relevant information from a variety of sources and gauge its importance when making decisions
  • Excellent organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to express oneself clearly in technical and non-technical terms
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with external vendors and internally at all organizational levels
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with diverse populations and communication styles
  • Excellent discretion and ability to handle confidential information
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (expert in MS Word, Excel)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HR database systems

Availability:

  • Available to work on site as required by job; eligible for domestic travel for 2-4 days at a time, if needed

At Oregon Tool, we provide a reasonable, good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this role of $80,000 to $95,000. Final offers are based on various factors such as experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. This range may vary based on geographic location where the position is filled, and most new hires are not typically hired at the top of the range.
