Sr Business Analyst

Job Description This is a remote position. Role: Sr Business Analyst With Power BI And Snowflake Location: Remote Contract: Long Term Job Description The Worker will perform advanced (senior-level) business analysis work related to implementing complex, emerging technology hardware and software projects to support the Mainframe Reports and Extract effort at the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC). Duties involve use of multiple methods in gathering, developing, and documenting requirements; the review, assessment, and development of business processes; the creation and validation of user acceptance testing; and research and special project support provided to users. This role will work under limited to minimal direction, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position will be responsible for analysis and documentation in the implementation of multiple interrelated projects related to reports. The focus of the work is intended to be data-related, including data analysis, root cause analysis of data errors, data flow documentation, report developments, and data posting on the DIR Open Data Portal or on RRC website. Requires knowledge and background in Power BI, Snowflake and data publishing. Ensures that deliverables and materials are produced and maintained in accordance with established processes and procedures, are of consistent quality, and use accepted business analysis methodologies. May assign and/or supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
